Two weeks ago a federal judge said free Major. As of the last report, he was still sitting alone in that Austin shelter.
Major is the veteran’s service dog who spent 575 days in a kennel. His owner’s lawyer says the reunion is coming “expeditiously.”
As of this morning, no rescue has been named publicly and no report says he’s out.
We’re watching. We’re counting the days.
When Major finally walks out of there, what’s the first thing you want to see?

Thank you, Gov. Henry McMaster (@henrymcmaster), for signing Fargo's, Hyco's, Rico's, Coba's, Wick's, Mikka's, and Bumi's Law.
It's now law in South Carolina. It expands what counts as a crime against police dogs and horses, raises the penalties, and requires restitution that covers replacing or restoring the animal, including purchase, training and vet costs.
Seven names on that law. Seven reasons it matters.
Does your state protect its working animals this well?

A woman drove 8 hours to a shelter to bring her dog home. As it turned out, her ex-husband had taken the dog there out of spite after their breakup. 💔
The moment the dog saw her, it was overjoyed: barking excitedly, running around, whining with happiness, wagging its tail nonstop, and jumping into her arms again and again.
Shelter staff said they had never seen a dog show such excitement at being reunited with its owner. It was clear that the dog had missed her so much during their time apart. 🐶💓

K9 Bart died of heat stroke after being left in an outdoor kennel with no water. His former handler is charged in his death.
Megan Chloe Swann, a former Madison County Tennessee deputy, faces one count of aggravated cruelty to animals. Sheriff Julian Wiser said she left the 2.5 year old German shepherd for about 36 hours as temperatures hit 101 degrees. A necropsy found heat stroke from severe dehydration.
She posted a $5,000 bond. Arraignment is Nov 9. A working dog deserved better.

For nearly 9 years, Synochok the bear lived in a tiny metal cage measuring just 4 square meters, forced to perform circus tricks and constantly transported from place to place in a vehicle. He never had the chance to experience life in freedom.
Now, after being rescued and moved to a new home, Synochok is happier and more cheerful, finally enjoying the freedom he had been waiting for. 🐻💗

IN HIS LAST WEEK ON THE JOB, HE STILL FOUND THE WANTED MAN.
K9 Logan found a felony warrant suspect out of Georgia and helped uncover cocaine and meth in a separate case. Then cancer took him.
He died earlier this week with his handler, Deputy Tony LoRusso, the whole Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and handlers from other agencies right there with him.
Rest easy, partner.

17 DEAD ANIMALS AT ONE GEORGIA HOME. BOTH ARRESTED. BOTH ALREADY OUT.
Hall County Animal Control found 13 dead chickens, 3 dead ducks and a dead dog on Yellow Creek Road in Murrayville.
Another dog was in the kennel with that body. Severely underweight.
Dogs inside the house were underweight too.
Per the arrest report, KC Parker, 20, said he couldn't afford their care after the breakup. No license. But he had a phone.
Montana Adkins said a locked gate kept her out. The report says there wasn't even a fence stopping anyone from getting in.
Officers say neither one gave these animals adequate food, water or sanitary conditions.
Picture your dog in that kennel.
Arrested Monday. Out Tuesday on $50,400 bond each.
Seventeen animals dead and that's the price tag.

A HORSE NAMED PINTO WAS TIED TO A PICKUP. THE PLEA DEAL CAPS JAIL AT 179 DAYS.
Las Vegas police say Pinto was found dead June 25 in east Las Vegas after being lassoed to an F-150.
Guadalupe Camarillo Guarneros, 62, turned himself in July 3. Bail was $5,000.
On October 22 he pleaded guilty to 4 gross misdemeanor conspiracy counts. Those counts also cover 10 pigs, 21 chickens, a puppy, a kitten, a piglet and a ferret.
Sentencing is November 4, and the plea caps his jail time at 179 days.
Pinto is dead, and the cap is less than six months. Should that be the most a judge can give?

A FIRE KILLED A PIT BULL NAMED NALA AND HER 7 PUPPIES. THE MAN CHARGED IS STILL ON THE RUN.
The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office in Texas has charged Abraham Salomon Chacon, about 40, with first degree arson of a habitation and third degree animal cruelty.
Nala and all 7 of her puppies died in that fire.
As of now, Chacon is still wanted. If you know where he is, contact the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office.
A mother dog and her babies had nowhere to go. Somebody out there knows where he’s hiding.
Will you share this so someone in Bastrop County sees his name?

I have absolutely awful news...
Two Americans and MAGA Trump voters in Charlotte NC have just been k*lled by a drunk-driving illegal immigrant from Mexico.
He is labelled as a "WHITE CAUCASIAN" male in the arrest records, despite being a Mexican illegal alien.
Their names were Rodney Quinn and Dana Osborne.
He was 66. She was 63.
On Saturday, October 24th, around 6:30 in the evening, they were riding down Moores Chapel Road in west Charlotte.
Police say a Honda Pilot turned left out of a driveway onto Moores Chapel Road... right into their path.
Police say the driver FAILED TO YIELD.
Rodney tried to stop his motorcycle, but it wasn’t enough.
The Harley hit the front corner of the Honda, went down on its side, and both of them were THROWN into the road.
They were wearing DOT-approved helmets, they did everything right.
But sadly, paramedics pronounced them both DE*D at the scene.
The driver of the Honda? Police say he had NO INJURIES.
His name is Jose Salas Tzompaxtle, and he’s 36 and an illegal alien from Mexico who has been arrested TWICE before for driving without a license, and was never deported.
Say their names. Rodney Quinn. Dana Osborne.
WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!

🚨#BREAKING: A family in Georgia is outraged after they paid to have their 4-year-old pug named Cha Cha euthanized...
...and then MONTHS LATER later saw a photo on Facebook of their dog ALIVE AND WELL with a vet from the animal hospital
The story is wild.
According to the family, Cha Cha the dog got very sick, the vets told them it was organ failure and diabetic ketoacidosis... so the family decided euthanisia was the best course of action.
The family said goodbye in March, paid the bill, and went home grieving.
But according to the family, someone at that hospital was very attached to Cha Cha, because a worker took her home instead.
Months later, Rebecca (the owner of Cha Cha) was scrolling Facebook and saw a photo.
Her words: “I knew scrolling like that’s my dog.”
Even more wild...the vet's husband confirmed it, his wife not only had Cha Cha, but he says the pug was in GOOD HEALTH.
The dog they were told was dying was actually ALIVE and DOING WELL.
But it gets worse.
When the family went to the hospital, managers DENIED IT, Rebecca says they got a LAWYER and won’t talk about it.
Then, the family believes, the hospital put Cha Cha down to hide what happened.
Rebecca’s words:
“The fact that they put a healthy dog down. That’s just sick.”
And this is NOT the first time.
Earlier this year, another family said their cat Annie was supposed to be euthanized at the SAME hospital, and a worker took her home too.
The hospital admitted it “fell short” that time.
And Annie? She was put down too.
So twice now, a dog or cat has been alive and cared for after the family said goodbye.
...this is beyond insane

AUTHORITIES SAY A DOG RESCUE FOUNDER TOOK DONATIONS WHILE 30 DOGS WENT WITHOUT FOOD.
Ashley Nichole Georgia, 38, founded the bully breed rescue Pittie Project PNW in Whatcom County, Washington. Prosecutors and the Sheriff's Office say she now faces 30 counts of first degree animal cruelty, a class C felony.
Deputies seized about 30 dogs on October 5. Sheriff's spokesperson Deb Slater says they had open wounds and worms, fur matted with feces and urine, and ribs, hips and leg bones showing. The probable cause statement says there was no food or water, and that the place "was anything but a rescue."
The Sheriff's Office says she collected donated food and thousands of dollars meant for those dogs. The property owner says at least one dog died.
She was arrested Friday, and her arraignment was set for Monday. The dogs are at the Whatcom Humane Society, and all of them are expected to fully recover.
Before you give to a rescue, how do you make sure the money actually reaches the dogs?
