When a person has a really good memory, they can appear intelligent bc they’re able to retain & recall information with remarkable accuracy. However, retention is not the same as comprehension, and comprehension is not necessarily the same as critical thinking. Being able to repeat information doesn’t automatically mean you can analyze it, challenge it, apply it, or use it to develop original ideas and solutions. There’s a distinction between knowing a lot of things and knowing what to do with what you know.
