The Voice is saddened to hear of the passing of Windrush pioneer Mr. Clarence Thompson MBE.🙏🏾
Mr. Clarence Thompson, born in Trinidad, was a social scientist, business teacher and chairman of the West Indian Standing Conference formed in 1958.
The West Indian Standing Conference was formed following the Notting Hill race riots, to promote the interests of the African-Caribbean community to fight discrimination in employment and housing.
Mr. Thompson received an MBE in 1965 for his work in race relations and activism.

The #NobelPeacePrize medal.
It measures 6.6 cm in diameter, weighs 196 grams and is struck in gold. On its face, a portrait of Alfred Nobel and on its reverse, three naked men holding around each other’s shoulders as a sign of brotherhood. A design unchanged for 120 years.
Did you know that some Nobel Peace Prize medals have been passed on after the award was given? A well‑known case is Dmitry Muratov’s medal, which was auctioned for over USD 100 million to support refugees from the war in Ukraine.
And the medal displayed at the Nobel Peace Center is actually on loan and originally belonged to Christian Lous Lange, Norway’s first Peace Prize laureate.
But one truth remains. As the Norwegian Nobel Committee states: “Once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred to others. The decision is final and stands for all time.”
A medal can change owners, but the title of a Nobel Peace Prize laureate cannot.

Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele. Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen. But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people—and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action. Together, he and his wife lived lives defined by purpose. They will be remembered for the values they championed and the countless people they inspired. We send our deepest condolences to all who loved them.

@Ryanair As a frequent flyer. I was absolutely stunned rude steward on 0610 FR112 Dublin to Gatwick tried to charge me €70 for my priority bag Rock Luggage Cabin Bag acceptable on every single flight I have ever had with you.
And even the immigration officer who I presented to as I was leaving when he asked me if I missed my flight. I showed him my bag and he said he was now worried about flying on his own holiday this week if my bag was deemed unacceptable. It wasn’t even full.
Countless (vast majority) flights I have been on with you this year have been delayed by hours. Always an excuse as to why it is not your fault. First flight that is on time-ish for ages and you try to rip me off. NEVER AGAIN. So I missed my flight. Thanks again @Ryanair 🙏🏽😡
@ryanair it was a disgrace compounded by the fact 1) the suitcase fitted 2) I was the last priority person in the queue to board 3) she also pulled the black woman in front of me and told her her bag did not fit either - but said I will let you board this time…..
