According to local sources, 34 bodies were initially collected under the supervision of Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) personnel. One wounded victim later died, and five additional bodies were recovered from surrounding areas, bringing the confirmed number of those buried to 40. Even more disturbing, sources allege that families were ordered to bury their loved ones quickly in a single mass grave and were prohibited from mourning loudly. AND THE HORROR MAY NOT BE OVER. Additional victims reportedly remain unaccounted for in nearby forests and ravines. Survivors who desperately need medical attention are reportedly unable to reach hospitals after armed groups blocked transportation attempting to take the wounded to Robe. The death toll could rise as injured civilians remain without medical assistance. Local Orthodox Christian residents also accuse security authorities of failing to protect their communities, alleging that threatened families were told to either convert or leave the area.
