Trying to get a frontier AI to analyze the questions: did the West engineer the Ukraine/Russia conflict? It's difficult to get the AIs to give good answers to controversial political questions. Ask the free chatbot versions and you get a cliche Wikipedia-page answer after a few seconds of thinking.
I used several AIs to look at this question and generate a video presentation:
The problem is not OpenAI's GPT Astra, the problem is Google's Gemini NotebookLM. There's where the censorship happened.
If you focus it on some piece of history it doesn't want to talk about, it gives an error message. A passive-aggressive AI move, haha.
In 1946, _The New Yorker_ devoted an entire issue to war correspondent John Hersey's description of what the atomic bomb did to Hiroshima.
It had an enormous impact on the public, who up until then had been told it was nothing more than a big bomb and even that 'radiation was a peaceful way to die'.
I discussed my own thoughts about consciousness with GPT-6 and had it generate a script for Notebook.
Whatever consciousness is, it generates neural activity that leads to humans talking about being conscious. That's what I would investigate if I wanted to dive into this question: the sequences of physical processes from sensory input to verbal output.
I like Bach, and this is nice music in the same form. But with all due respect, I feel like Bach is kind of robotic. Let's hear something more like Widor's Toccata.
Claude Opus 5.5 writes a fugue for three voices. This piece was rated the second-most enjoyable track on the AI music detection quiz (just behind Bach). 72% of respondents identified it as being human-written.
Prompt: “In LilyPond, write a 3-voice fugue for harpsichord in the style of Bach.” (Extra High effort)
The hard problem of consciousness. We can't tell if AI is conscious, because we can't agree on what that is, and we cannot even prove that other humans are conscious.
This is a strange and interesting YouTube channel, pre-AI, creating nonexistent meetings between people by editing together clips of existing footage.
