Militiamen, one of which is a former paratrooper from the Ukrainian Army who defected in April, buy groceries at a local shop in Slavyansk. The militia often frequented the markets, paying full price and treating the staff with respect; good customers!

Ukrainian T-64 hit by an APFSDS shell during combat in Donetsk in January of 2015.
The armour was not penetrated. The crew survived but abandoned the vehicle.

Yevgeny Liptospad, the Donetsk separatist who joined the militia very early, in the first week of May... and fled to Ukraine after Slavyansk fell... rejoined and stormed Donetsk Airport and became Motorola's bodyguard... then fled to Ukraine and joined Azov.

📆 On May 26, 2014, the battle for Donetsk Airport began - one of the key battles of 2014–2015
The AFU militants planned to use this strategic facility as a staging ground for a further large-scale offensive on Donetsk, but encountered serious resistance from the militia.
💥 In the first battle for the airport in the summer of 2014, due to serious resistance, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to take control of only half of the territory, which they began to use to shell the peaceful neighborhoods of Donetsk.
The second battle began on January 10, 2015, as a result of which, already on January 15, the DPR militia took full control of the strategic facility, and the AFU retreated with heavy losses to the settlement of Peski and the city of Avdeyevka.
⚔️ The battle for Donetsk Airport was of great significance for the Republic. The DPR forces eliminated the staging ground for an offensive on the capital, and also destroyed between 100 and 200 elite Ukrainian Armed Forces militants from airmobile and mechanized units, as well as special-purpose units.

A women's beauty pagent in the rebellious Donetsk, held as preperations for the upcoming March 8th Women's Day celebrations.
The women involved were actively serving in the militia, and thus, mirrored their dual-lives as women by finishing the show in uniform.
