12 new Texas St Representatives-elect for the Texas House are educators or former school board members. And our new Texas Governor is a former Austin ISD school board member & our new US Senator is a former public school teacher in Edgewood ISD in San Antonio.
What struck me watching @GinaHinojosaTX right after the call: she took in the enormity of the win, then stepped into the role of Governor-elect with immediate dignity and gravitas. Like she was breathing it in.
