Doug v. Tommy: Prosecuting the Case for Alabama xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1vKpPNblg…
Tommy Tuberville is not from Alabama, doesn’t live in Alabama and clearly does not understand folks in Alabama. That is especially true of the people who make North Alabama home. Folks who have moved into North Alabama are building an amazing economy and quality of life for the whole region. But to hear Tommy, they are socialists and communists that need to be “educated.” These folks don’t need to be “educated,” they deserve our thanks and respect. And they deserve a governor who will give them both.

We had a time at SaintsFest! Thank you to my friends, @Sewell4Congress and Sen. Robert Stewart, for welcoming me to your all class reunion.
Dems should have absolutely done that, even in those years when you were a Democrat. I’ll give that. But that’s a pretty weak response when we’ve had a Republican governor for 23 years and you have had a super majority in the legislature for 15 years. The economy you have built is not working for the average Alabamian. We top the list in personal bankruptcies, top of the list in debt collection lawsuits, we’re 7th in the number of folks in poverty, we’re third in the country in having the lowest workforce participation rate, we have almost 20% of the population facing hunger every day, we’re losing farms from one end of the state to the other, we’re losing rural hospitals left and right and healthcare delivery is near the bottom, you’re sucking money out of the education trust fund to go to private schools while the overall quality of public education still ranks near the bottom of all states (even Mississippi) and per pupil spending ranks near the bottom, quality of life consistently ranks at the bottom, the prison system is a disgrace while you rob the education trust fund to build a prison that is costing almost 3 times the original projection, electricity rates are some of the highest in the country while you guys have controlled the PSC for the last 25 years or so, retired teachers can’t get a COLA. And all of this may get worse thanks to “Coach” and his DC policies that have hurt so many in Alabama.
In your economy your rich corporate buddies are doing fine but the rest of Alabama is hurting.
People in Alabama are not stupid. They are not living in the past. They are struggling and they know who has been in charge while Alabama is stuck at the top of most lists that are bad and at the bottom of most that are good. They are ready for change.
You do realize Democrats had 136 years of control over the state Legislature. Why didn’t they cut the grocery tax then? Instead, they left the state BILLIONS in debt and voted to give themselves pay raises during the 2008 financial crisis while Alabamians were suffering.
We cut the grocery tax in half last quadrennium and delivered over $1.5B in tax relief. We’ve been able to do that while fixing the education system your buddies broke and building the strongest economy in our state’s history. The same delusional leadership you brought to your brief stint in the U.S. Senate is showing in a big way right now. Can’t wait for Coach to send you packing… again.

This week I visited Donald Means, a fifth-generation farmer raising cattle in Greene County. He told me he wants to carry on his family’s legacy, but high diesel prices and tariffs are making it harder for farmers like him to hold on.
I promise you, when you elect me governor and Ron Sparks as Agriculture Commissioner, Ron and I will do all we can to keep family farms like Donald’s in business.
Well it’s about damn time. Your Democratic colleagues have been proposing elimination of the tax on groceries for years, I have been talking about it since I started my campaign, but it takes the realization of the possibility of losing the governorship and a bunch of seats in the legislature 2 weeks before the election for you guys to have an election year conversion for something that should be happened years ago while you have been in charge.
I was proud to join Pro Tem Gudger, Rep. Rex Reynolds, Rep. James Lomax, Rep. Phillip Rigsby, and Senator Sam Givhan this morning to announce our joint plan to fully eliminate Alabama’s grocery tax.
Combined with the 50% already cut over the last four years, this will put almost $500 back into the pockets of Alabamians. The bill is drafted and will be a day one priority of the 2027 Session.
What an amazing day on the water in and around Mobile Bay. Sadly there is so much happening around the bay these days that threatens the livelihoods and quality of life of so many residents. There is nothing inconsistent with economic development and preserving the natural wonders and biodiversity of the entire region. But if we are not careful it will be lost for future generations. Stay tuned for more videos to come.
This bus tour isn’t stopping until November 3. This week we rolled through the Black Belt, meeting folks in Chilton, Lowndes, Montgomery, Perry, Hale, Marengo, Choctaw, and Washington counties before attending the Washington County vs. McIntosh homecoming game last night.
Too often, rural communities get left out of the conversation in Montgomery. As governor, I’ll make our rural counties a priority.
Tommy flip flops his position on data centers but can’t keep from flipping back. Different words but means the same: “we’re gonna do data centers” and community concerns are “bullcrap.”
Wow, this is great “Coach.” Even though it is just 1 stop a day for 14 out of 21 days (as opposed to our 3-4 /day), this is more time in Alabama in 3 weeks than you have spent since you left Auburn.

You have been in the Senate almost 6 years and haven’t put them FIRST yet. Instead you are complicit in the Trump tariffs that crippled many of their markets, stayed silent when Trump decided to dump 300,000 metric tons of cheap imported beef into the US when our cattlemen are hurting and their herds are thin and stayed silent about a war that has driven up costs of fertilizer, gasoline and diesel fuel. The Senate passed a Farm Bill when I was there but all you seem to have done is to trade farm commodity futures in order to make money for yourself.
D.C. Doug and the Democrats don’t realize that our food isn’t grown on the shelves in grocery stores. They constantly throw our farmers and producers under the bus. As your Governor, I will put our outstanding farmers FIRST. I’m proud to have led multiple “Farm Tours” to hear from hundreds of farmers across our great state.
What a day, Huntsville. Nearly 2,000 of you showed up yesterday to rally with my friend @staceyabrams and me.
Stacey helped turn out the vote in Georgia. We can do it here in Alabama, too.
Folks, the registration deadline is one week away. Make sure your friends and family are registered and have a plan to vote. We’ve got an election to win on November 3.

I loved being with my friend Congresswoman @Sewell4Congress at Women for Alabama this week!
Terri and I made a great team when we served together in Congress, and I know we’ll make an even better team when she’s reelected to Congress and I’m elected Governor.
Let’s get it done on November 3rd.
OMG! I told you the negative ads were coming but never thought Tuberville would launch a blistering negative attack ad on himself. What happened to “We’ll take all the data centers we can get” and the concerns of Alabamians are Bullcrap?”
