The Robert McCartney murder exposed the ugly relationship between Sinn Féin and the IRA. An IRA murder, a forensic clean up, a wall of silence and a family forced to fight for justice while Sinn Féin played political games. Lawbreakers then, lawbreakers now!

I’m thrilled to share that my short book will soon be published in Hebrew by Tchelet Books, one of Israel’s leading publishing houses, and will be available digitally and in bookstores within weeks. Hamas: The Enemy of Gaza brings to Israeli readers a Palestinian perspective on the complex reality of life in Gaza under Hamas, challenging the common perception that the group enjoys broad popular support. Blending the story of Hamas’s rise to power with my own experiences and insights, the book offers a concise account of how the terror group became one of the greatest disasters to befall the Palestinian people. It examines the historical, political, regional, religious, and strategic forces that enabled Hamas’s entrenchment, while also highlighting Israeli policies that shaped its trajectory and contributed to the path leading to October 7. I will share details on how to obtain a copy as soon as they become available in Israel.
I am also pleased to share that my short book will be translated and published in four additional languages: Greek, Italian, Norwegian, and French, with efforts underway to secure a German publisher. Importantly, with the help of several allies, I am also working to have the book published in Arabic. That effort has proven challenging, as many publishers deem it “too controversial” because of its unequivocal opposition to Hamas’s “resistance” narrative and my argument and declaration that the group is holding Gaza’s Palestinians hostage to its Islamist, jihadist, and ultimately nihilistic ideology and agendas.

British pro-Pal Chloe says that the Palestinian flag represents “freedom from capitalism, imperialism and colonialism” from her nice house in London. In her plummy accent she claims to be like the “workers” in Palestine. I honestly don’t get these people.

So let’s get this straight.
Someone who stood for election for the political wing of a sectarian terrorist organisation is now calling his Protestant neighbours “extremists”.
Welcome to the warped mind of Irish republicans.
Anyone know why Eliana blocked me ages ago?
She's a Unionist & I liked a lot of her posts, but don't believe I've ever said anything to her. Thinking she possibly accidentally blocked me.
Not the first time I've been confused for another account on here, btw.

In yesterday's Irish Times, Mary Robinson, who served as Ireland's president from 1990 to 1997, likened attempts to stop Sally Rooney "expressing support for Palestinians" to the demonisation of opponents of apartheid. She called Faber's decision to stop selling Rooney's books in the UK "a very worrying constraint and repression."
To be clear, Faber's decision was not about Rooney expressing support for Palestinians. In August 2025, also in the Irish Times, Rooney wrote that she intended "to use the proceeds of my work, as well as my public platform generally, to go on supporting Palestine Action and direct action against genocide in whatever way I can." Palestine Action is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK. Faber says the law now prevents it from passing Rooney's UK earnings to her, and that selling her work there without paying her would be "unconscionable." Therefore, it reached a voluntary agreement with Rooney to withdraw her books from British bookstores.
While Robinson shows great concern for Rooney, another woman's name appears nowhere in the article, that of Police Sergeant Kate Evans.
In August 2024, Palestine Action activists attacked an Elbit Systems site at Filton, near Bristol. Sgt Evans was on her knees, trying to handcuff a female activist, when Samuel Corner, a 23-year-old former student at the University of Oxford, hit her from behind with a sledgehammer. In the judge's words, she "did not have any chance of seeing or escaping the blow."
Evans suffered multiple fractures to her vertebrae. For months, she was unable to drive, shower, or dress herself. Almost two years later, she has not returned to full active duty, is still receiving medical treatment, and has been unable to retain her rank as a sergeant. She still experiences panic attacks during the night, and her parents and children fear for her safety.
In June, Corner was convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Sgt. Evans and jailed for over seven years. The judge described "extreme and gratuitous violence against a vulnerable police officer" and noted that Corner "has never even said sorry." In her victim impact statement, Sgt. Evans said that Corner had attempted to "justify his actions with baseless and offensive claims that [she] was complicit in genocide".
Rooney's defenders will say she supports damage to property, not violence against people. But Filton shows how that distinction blurs when activists arrive armed with sledgehammers and police are summoned to stop them. Rooney pledged her platform and her earnings to the terrorist group the year after the Filton attacks, but I can find no record of her ever even mentioning Sgt. Evans.
Robinson is right to condemn "thuggery and intimidation" by far-right agitators, and right to defend the rule of law. But the rule of law exists to protect everyone equally. Standards shouldn't change when people are engaging in thuggery, intimidation, and violence for a cause she favours. Sympathy is also not a limited resource, and it can stretch beyond celebrity novelists to a police officer who has lost far more to Palestine Action than some book royalties.

At a recent event where I spoke at a community center, a group of “pro-Palestine” militiamen appeared outside to protest and disrupt the event, along with agitated older white women who entered the venue to do the same on the inside. The organizers and I had arranged extensive security because these same “activists” had spent days trying to get the event canceled and openly vowed to do whatever they could to stop it from happening. As I walked in, a few masked “activists” in keffiyehs whispered, "is this the genocide guy?" I turned to them and said, "hi gentlemen, thanks for coming." One replied, "Free Palestine." I responded, "I agree, including from Hamas."
Once I began speaking, several disruptors engaged in a steady stream of whispering, side conversations, eye-rolling, posturing, and juvenile antics. I stopped and asked one of the women why she and her comrades were behaving like children. She admitted she knew nothing about me or my work but felt qualified to declare that if I were truly Palestinian, my Nakba-surviving grandparents would be rolling in their graves. I asked the agitators to be respectful, explaining that while security could remove them, I would rather they listen to what I actually had to say, instead of relying on misinformation spread about me by the local DSA, BDS, and other "pro-Palestine" groups.
What enraged me most was their reaction when I spoke about my family in Gaza, the relatives we have lost to Israeli airstrikes during the post-October 7 war, and the destruction of both my childhood homes. These white “activists” laughed and smirked as I described some of the most painful experiences of my life and the sense of personal loss that inspires my work. They showed shocking indifference toward the very Palestinians on whose behalf they claim to be acting.
I confronted some of the disruptors directly and asked why they get to define what it means to be "pro-Palestine," despite knowing nothing about me and showing no interest in the trauma my family has endured. Some stormed out shouting "Free Palestine." Others fell silent. One person, despite strongly disagreeing with me, acknowledged that my views were rooted in personal loss and genuine concern for my people and shook my hand before leaving.
On my way out, a pseudo-journalist known for glorifying Hamas and "the resistance" tried to ambush me with questions about whether I was paid by weapons manufacturers, oil companies, or, as he brilliantly misstated it, the "Arab Union Emirates." It struck me how absurd it is that I needed three heavily armed security officers and a bodyguard simply to speak about healing and reconciliation between Palestinians and Israelis, the dangers of extremism for both societies, the catastrophic damage Hamas has inflicted on the Palestinian national project, and the right of Palestinians to freedom, safety, and prosperity alongside a secure Israel.

The decision not to vet the National Security Advisor, Jonathan Powell, was a deliberate one.
The reason behind that decision could only be that the person who took it did not believe he would pass it and did not care.
Which means that Jonathan Powell was deliberately put in post by someone at the very highest level to deliver something that could not or would not be delivered by someone else who was properly vetted.
Keir Starmer personally appointed Jonathan Powell as the UK’s National Security Adviser on 8 November 2024.
Keir Starmer, it should be remembered, also appointed Peter Mandelson to the post of UK ambassador to the United States before vetting was even completed, and then confirmed him in post, ignoring the vetting agency's recommendation.
Both Powell and Mandelson are/were advocates of an ever deeper relationship between the UK and China. Powell being a significant advocate for the surrender of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, a development that could only strengthen China’s position in a contested region of the world.
I’ve said for a long time that I believe Starmer has been compromised and this revelation that Starmer personally appointed Powell to such a critical post without vetting shows that Starmer ‘s actions were at the very least highly irregular, extremely questionable and certainly undermining of UK national security.
Consider every action of Starmer as PM and the conclusion becomes self evident.
Jonathan Powell was not vetted before being appointed National Security Adviser, we can report.

Jonathan Powell has a problem: his wife. As a result, Britain has a problem: Jonathan Powell.
For days, Sarah Helm has doubled down on her apparent sympathy for terrorist groups, including not just Palestine Action but even, in the past, Hamas.
The questions have now reached Parliament: our national securiry adviser's clearance, vetting, and his record on China and Chagos.
But the bigger story is what this says about British foreign policy. At the very moment when our relationship with Israel – an intelligence partner that has saved countless British lives – is in jeopardy due to empty, pro-Palestine virtue-signalling, our national security adviser is engulfed in this controversy.
His position is untenable. He must go.

Burnham is the Prime Minister of the UK as a whole.
Mary Lou McDonald isn't even the Taoiseach of the Republic of Ireland. 🤔
Big difference.
Replying to @WilsonTBailey
She is the leader of the largest party in Ireland, as is Andy Burnham in the UK, perhaps the Scots and Welsh dont like it when he appears in their respctive countries, just got to suck it up buttercup, you know in your heart the brits dont want this place !
If Northern Ireland's DFM has no mandate here according to Republicans, then Mary Lou McDonald has no mandate in Northern Ireland.
MLD's mandate is only in the southern State that calls itself "Ireland". Not one vote for her in Northern Ireland. 🤔
Not a member of Stormont.
Replying to @WilsonTBailey
The DFM - no mandate
Robinson - not a member of assembly
Burrows- no mandate
Marylou - leader of the biggest party on the island
Your point is.
