People disliking your boundaries is NORMAL.
Keep setting them.
Rabbits dislike fences around your garden.
Doesn’t make them bad rabbits. Doesn’t mean you dismantle the fences.
Let people get used to the you that values your garden.

If you think you’ll lose your mind,
or be destroyed by trauma or grief,
read this:

ALT Post by @drdeeknight that says: You won’t lose your mind. Grief may well change you. It changes us all, but it will not destroy you. One lie of grief, as with all trauma, is that you will always be the way that you are. That you will be stuck in this version of pain and loss. But everything living changes. Let it be what it is each day, even when it almost wins.

Gentleness

Practice pleasure.
You've practiced survival all this time, and look how good you are at it.

Added to my death plan:
People I don’t want at my funeral or touching me if I’m incapacitated.
If this matters to you,
tell the people you love.
My boundaries won’t die when I do.

Grind if y’all want to.
I do enough hard things.
With every breath I can,
I’ll be gentler with me.

You don’t always have to be “doing the work.” Sometimes “the work” is resting.
Surviving is ok, too.

“But that’s still your family…”
Do y’all understand some ppl’s family/parents are unhealthy at best and some are downright evil?
Some ppl were trafficked by their “family.” Ask me how I know.
Set whatever boundaries you need to this holiday season. idc if they’re “family.”

I already know how strong I am.
I wanna know how soft I can be.
I’ve experienced harshness.
How gentle can this world be
with me?
How much goodness can my soul tolerate?
These are the new goals.
How much joy can one stand?
How much peace?
I love you, Black men.
I want gentleness for you.
I want wholeness for you.
I want goodness for you.
I want softness for you.
I want peace for you.
I want rest for you.
I want joy for you.
Àṣẹ and amen.

No, we were really outside, in ditches, lakes, quarries, construction sites, basements, getting molested, surviving on Now-n-laters, all the things with no parental supervision or expectations to even be back home until dark.
