Many years ago Nottingham was thought of as a decent medical/scientific centre. It had a good medical school, the major hospitals had a strong reputation for high quality care. Things have clearly changed. Another scandal in another specialty. These are not isolated problems.
🚨 EXC: Nottingham hospital launches urgent investigation into hip fracture deaths as its mortality rate hits 50% more than national average - the problem is linked to long delays for emergency surgery according to internal documents. Full story: thetimes.com/article/b5bc397…

Ed Miliband explains why the Labour government must send British foreign aid to Pakistan. He says British taxpayers must pay Pakistan for climate damage due to responsibility and to show solidarity. Does he truly speak for Great Britain? Yes or no?

As a Consultant Doctor working in the NHS with no private practice, I am forecasted to pay more £45k in income tax and NI contributions this year! That's more than the full time UK median salary!
Replying to @ClearThinker66
Oh please don’t tell me you said that. Please don’t tell me you’re that stupid. They’re public sector workers. Ergo they contribute nothing at all to the income tax or NI pot. Nothing. They are net takers. Not net contributors. Please tell me you understand this basic fact.

Henry Nowak is dead because he was White. That’s it. He was killed in a racist attack because of his race. Yet our Home Secretary won’t dare admit it. Shame on you and the rest of the government.
Henry Nowak was just 18 years old, with his whole life ahead of him. His murder was a horrific and senseless crime, and my thoughts remain with his family and friends, who have endured unimaginable loss and heartbreak. The Nowak family have shown extraordinary courage and dignity in their pursuit of answers. Henry’s case has raised serious and legitimate questions about whether more could have been done to prevent this tragedy, and about the response of public authorities in its aftermath. An independent review will seek those answers. I am grateful to Alex Chalk for agreeing to lead this important work. He brings considerable experience and expertise, and I know he will conduct the review with the rigour, independence and seriousness that Henry’s case demands.

Get Ready for @DHSCgovuk attacks on @TheBMA Consultants Media stories trying to shame them for what they earn, calling them greedy, comparing their salary with that of a Band 4 support worker etc DHSC throw money on PAs &tACPs, but want Senior Drs supervising them to take pay cut
Senior doctors in England are to stage a two day strike in late November. Consultants who are members of the doctors union the BMA will strike on Nov 25th and 26th in a pay dispute which also covers working hours and conditions. The last strike by consultants was in 2023.

Such a ruined life. Living in the most beautiful bit of Essex countryside. In a manor house worth millions. And never having to work for a living. Poor thing. 🙄

We were a group of women (not affiliated to any organisation) standing in the rain to show support for a woman who has been repeatedly raped. We didn't consider that this was "for nothing". The fact that you do says nothing about us but everything about you, Fred.
Replying to @GrumpyOW
When are these people who stand in the rain going to realise that there will be no support for them from the organisations they donate to. Sex Matters and WRN rake in millions while these poor clowns stand in the rain getting wet for nothing

Beds … with the lowest number of hospital beds the NHS continues to cut them The premise an empty bed cost £. They don’t, they provide flexibility, opportunity to admit someone while another bed is being emptied. Blocked A&E cancelled operations! NHSE 5000 more permanent beds

This girl features in numerous videos staged by Hamas journalists. What's even worse is how painfully obvious her overacting is, and yet you still publish it as 100% genuine.
🟢 Hamas is calling on the Arab League to hold an emergency meeting to confront Israel's policy of "re-starving" Gaza's population. Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem urged groups and movements across the Arab world to "take action on the ground" and pressure all parties to stop the starvation of Palestinians in Gaza. He said Israel's renewed starvation policy cannot continue "amid the silence of the concerned parties." The call comes as Israel lets in about 34% of the 600 aid trucks a day required under the ceasefire, according to a report the Palestinian side prepared for the truce's mediators. The UN's World Food Programme has also cut food aid to 500,000 people in Gaza over funding shortages. 🎥 Saad Jamil & Ahmad Afash

The reputational damage here to @nhsfife just grows and grows. Incredible that highly paid managers could operate in such incompetent fashion without any repercussions.
EXCLUSIVE NHS Fife’s own lawyer raised doubts about its explosive statement on the Sandie Peggie employment tribunal, and believed he had not seen the final version before it was published, internal emails show 👇

To think that the Prime Minister used to be so strongly against free movement of people in the EU as it was bad for his constituents. Is Leigh that far from Makerfield? (No, part of Leigh went into Makerfield in the last boundary changes).
There is nothing socialist about a system of free movement that is used by multi-nationals to undermine wages. WATCH my Brexit speech today.

Push for reparations and then moan about racism. Such tedious showboating, and we’re all bored of it. It’s been done to death. You’re a British MP. Act like it.
I've received waves of racism & abuse since my #BHM speech. A Shadow Minister referred to my "mates overseas" and told me I should "do one" Who exactly are my mates overseas? 🤔 Today I called out his racially-charged comment. Grateful for Speaker's response 👇🏾
