Even five billion years ago, there were over 50 trillion mature stars within 100M light years of the Sun. If even one species made it to von Neumann probe level, they should be here now.

A brave Krakow police officer chasing and killing the Krakow terrorist. This man deserves a parade.
THIS
I urge you to read this post.
Let's play it out. Let's pause American AI. Let's ban RSI. Put a moratorium on all the data centers. America's progress will severely slow down. China's will inevitably keep going. They don't care about your American moratorium. They will continue to build RSI anyway, (this is guaranteed) and they will most likely keep open-sourcing models like they already do.
Now what? In two to three years' time, you're going to have every American company and every small business secretly downloading open-source AGI. And if you say you're going to ban Fortune 500 companies from using Chinese models, you still can't stop the weights from spreading. What are you going to do, ban math?
So the job loss happens anyway. I have my own small business, and I also work for a major company. The side teams are going to use it like they already do, I'm going to use it, and people in other small businesses are going to use it to replace editors, gig workers, programmers, and software engineers who might have done small projects here and there.
Even with the YouTube teams I work with, they already plan on replacing all of their editors in one years time. - they will just simply switch to Chinese models.
The job loss is going to happen regardless: the editing, the assistants, customer service, and a huge chunk of gig work will all be done by free open-source models from China. And unless you're banning self-driving cars too, the majority of rideshare will eventually go with it.
Except now, the upside is no longer in America. The labs, the chips, and the tax revenue are all going to go to China. And with the data center moratorium, even running those models happens on someone else's servers. We get the unemployment and no growth to pay for UBI. You're going to completely fuck over every single American, whether they like it or not.
If you think advanced AI is dangerous, you still have to explain how an American pause protects us from systems developed abroad and whether it leaves us less able to defend ourselves. I've spoken to a plethora of Chinese researchers at a myriad of companies, gathering my consensus, and I am confident that they will not stop development. No matter how America tries to come to the table, they will continue pressing forward to AGI.
We've had hundreds of cyberattacks from Chinese state hackers that have exposed critical vulnerabilities. Not only are you going to ramp that up, but you're going to do it in tandem with looming job loss.

“That doesn’t stop AI, it just exports it to China.”
Times columnist Matthew Syed argues that the US must continue to develop its AI capacity or risk China getting ahead in the global race for progress in the technology.

If you work for SpaceX you really are basically on a quest to save the USA right now. Like it isn’t even a crazy Elon theory anymore. You gotta build these data centers in space or we’re legit fucked.

This guy said the quiet part out loud and you can feel his anger and disgust…
I couldn’t agree more..
Sickening. The reality of these backward cultures is too grotesque to consider rationally.
A Pakistani boy once told the Muslim Women's Network that his community "shares" girls:
“My mate called me and said ‘Bro I have a surprise for you, come over to this house.’ When I got there 15 of them were sitting in the living room. My mate told me to go upstairs for my surprise.
"When I went into the bedroom, another friend was doing this girl. The lads went up one by one and took turns and while they were waiting they were calling their mates, cousins and uncles to come over and join in and showing off.
"Others turned up too including two older men who were taxi drivers, who went straight upstairs. One older man said I am going to call my son over so he can practice on her and later his 15-year-old son arrived in his uniform.
"Everyone took turns and it took 6 hours. I did get concerned and said, ‘the girl is going to get broke, who will marry her?” The girl is not paid but she gets looked after, she is given food and the boys make sure she gets home safely if it gets late.
"There are set days Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays but some of my friends don’t like doing stuff like that on a Friday because it is Juma (holy day) and they go mosque.”
Pimping a girl out to your cousins and children is the norm in Pakistani communities in Britain.
You do not understand these people. We cannot share a country with them. They all have to go.
Morality aside, she mops the floor with Piers. 😂
Piers Morgan told a law student she was wasting her brain on OnlyFans. She told him she earns about double what he does. Then he asked what her future kids would think. "They can cry in a Ferrari."
Piers spent the whole interview trying to make her regret it. She never stopped smiling.
In the video below, he keeps pushing and she keeps winning.
Her name is Elle Brooke. She was a law student at university in Southampton. She saw how much money other people were earning online and thought: I can do this too. So she dropped out.
Piers tells her she obviously has a great brain. Why pack in a career as a lawyer?
Her answer: she wouldn't have made much as a solicitor anyway. "I earned that in two weeks now."
He asks how much she makes. She asks how much he makes. "Maybe, like, double that."
She won't give a number. Only that she's in the top 0.01% of OnlyFans creators "in monetary terms."
Then he tries family. Surely they're disappointed?
"My dad is dead and my mum is on my payroll."
Doing what? "Admin." Her mum doesn't brag about it at the pub, she says, but she's supportive.
Piers warns her that some people watching will think she sounds awful. She shrugs: "With a little bit of good looks and hard work, you can become a millionaire."
Even Piers admits it: "The bottom line is she's making millions doing what she enjoys doing."
His last shot: in 15 years she'll tell him he was right.
"I'll pick you up in my Bugatti."
Here's what happened after. She later said that interview basically doubled her earnings. And in January 2024 she knocked out AJ Bunker in the third round to win the Misfits Boxing women's middleweight title.
Piers thought he was watching a bright girl throw away a law career. She walked out with a viral clip, by her own account double the income, and within a year a title belt.
The person asking the questions isn't always the one in control.
More and more ordinary Europeans are waking up and refusing to swallow the endless stream of propaganda, excuses and outright bullshit the establishment keeps trying to force down their throats.
This video is now going viral across France and the EU, spreading like wildfire on YouTube, TikTok and X.
And it’s hardly surprising.
People are fed up with being lied to, patronised and treated like fools by their own leaders.
Every failure, every political disaster and every consequence of their own decisions is conveniently pinned on Russia.
Enough is enough.
Europeans are tired of the endless blame game, the manufactured excuses and an establishment that is incapable of taking responsibility for its own failures.
Very old school treachery by the EU.
Perfect summary of 99% of Ted talks.
Ten million people have watched a comedian accidentally destroy the entire TED talk industry.
He filmed the talk once at TEDxNewYork in 2014 and openly admitted he had nothing to say.
Speaking coaches charge $5,000 to teach the exact tricks he used in 6 minutes to say nothing at all.
His name is Will Stephen. He is a comedian from Late Night with Seth Meyers who was invited to give a real TED talk and used it to prove the format is a costume anyone can wear.
Every TED speaker opens with a question, tells a personal story, cites a scientist, and shows a chart. Stephen did all four in six minutes with zero content.
His entire formula fits on a napkin.
Gesture with both hands. Ask the audience a question anyone can answer. Tell a mildly embarrassing story so they say aww. Point to a stranger on a slide and call them important. Flash a chart of random numbers. Wear glasses with no lenses. The audience will think you are brilliant.
That last trick alone has probably cost the public speaking coaching industry a hundred million dollars in sessions clients should have skipped.
"If you watched me on YouTube with the sound off, you would think I was a genius."
That is Will Stephen on the TED stage, three minutes into the talk he was paid to give. He wasn't lying.
Executives pay $15,000 for a keynote coach and still open with a joke the room never laughs at. Founders rehearse their pitch for weeks and still sound like Stephen at minute four, saying "wagga wah, gabba gabba" with authority.
The talk is free on YouTube. The method is written across every TED speaker's playbook for ten years.
Stephen still writes for Seth Meyers. Almost none of the ten million viewers have stopped nodding at empty slides since.
The formula is free. The willingness to actually say something before your next keynote, pitch, or townhall is the entire edge.
