We are not perfect, but we are decent people. We work, raise families, go to church. Try our best to live and let live. So what did we do to deserve this? To be increasingly surrounded by people who deny objective reality? Who long to destroy our livelihoods over minor policy disagreements? Who preach compassion yet default to force, every single time? It is unbearable suffering to breathe the same air as these petty tyrants, day in and day out. To be forced to act as if their demented neuroses fall somewhere in the spectrum of acceptable behavior. We are decent people, but we can only take so much. And we can no longer pretend to share a bond with these insufferable reptiles. May it be us or them God, for we are exhausted. And if it’s us then let the record show we only asked to be left alone.
