I decided to painstakingly make an entire Final Fantasy world map in Blender but holy shit, turns out it's a lot of effort to painstakingly make an entire Final Fantasy world map in Blender

Thank you so much to everyone who wishlisted and shared Enoch !
Shall we aim for 6,000? Help us get there by telling a point & click friend about it 😄

He made a pact to save his daughter.
The price wasn't his soul. It was his memories of her.
Here's the brand-new trailer for The Pactmaker, revealed yesterday at @Pointclickshow.
A supernatural thriller I've poured my heart into.

Finished a game called THRESHOLD last night. I recommend it. $9.99 and about 3 hours or so. It's a very moody and atmospheric FPS game. I guess the genre is sort of adventure / horror. It's very dark and moody and has great worldbuilding. It's interesting from the very start. The guy who made it is ex-Crytek and Arkane as a level designer? Julien Eveillé.
Core mechanic is you have a job to do. Keep a train running. But the area is very high and the air it low so you run out of breath easily. By completing tasks you get air cannisters to bite into. Between tasks you explore the level and find items and puzzle out what to do with them. All against the ticking clock of your air supply dwindling and having to keep the train running.
It's a great setup and has great execution. I think it's also a pretty ideal model for s solo dev indie game. Small in scope. Retro visuals that are in reach to create. Yet it is very compelling in a narrative sense and all the gamplay ties back into that narrative.
I think people who like moody narrative games that aren't 30 hours long will enjoy it. It is a fairly tense experience. A little indie game clunk here and there (be extra sure to catch all the text that appears on screen). And I ran into some hitching bug later in the game where it would pause a few seconds here and there (can restart the game to reset that and you might not even hit it).
I'm glad I played it. Worth the experience. I love games like this.

It's #WishlistWednesday! Wishlisting won't cost you a cent, and it's the single biggest lever I have as an indie dev with no marketing budget. If Enoch looks like your kind of game, now's the moment! Link in comment

Not everyone with a PC is running fucking AI models you spastic
Dumb people like you, give money to mega dumb people like Sam Altman, and then other dum-dums believe they should invest into it. It's a whole lotta stupid.
I Agree with Sam Altman.
First of all, local models are useless, they're dumb and slow
You'll spend ~$1000 on 128 GB RAM to run a local model
And you won't get anything done with it, dumb models at 8tps are useless
A $20 subscription will get more things done
And for 95% of the time, RAM is not being used so it's doing less work there compared to in a data centre where utility is more
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Local models on suitable 128GB hardware often run at 30+ tokens/second and offer practical uses; 128GB DDR5 RAM kits currently start above $2200, not ~$1000.
