"They do so much for kids in college...I've known about it since I was 13. The owner Duffy used to have talent shows & let me be a part of it. He always created space for me."

#BHM The next highlightee is Gil Scott-Heron. Scott-Heron (1949-2011) was a New York City poet, activist, musician, social critic and spoken-word performer whose songs in the ‘70s helped lay the foundation for rap music. (1)
Scott-Heron never achieved mainstream popularity. But years after his death, his social and political commentary still figures in pop culture and protest movements around the world. (4)
While the children are apart of the program, they are also introduced to college tours that will ready them for their futures, as well as job readiness. Education is also an important aspect of our program, as we always push our participants to strive for greatness. (3)
If you know of someone who needs this assistance, please direct them to us! If you have any other questions, please contact us at (302)652-3532 or at [email protected] (4)
