Ten years ago, we released the video for “The Stage,” directed by stop-motion master Chris Hopewell. The band spent two months developing the concept, and the spark was, believe it or not, “The Lonely Goatherd” from The Sound of Music. What came out of that was a marionette show under a creepy circus tent, with puppets acting out scenes of death across mythology and history, all played to an audience that cheers on every act of violence - really showcasing some of the darkest parts of humanity.
Chris and his team did an amazing job executing the video, creating the scenery and puppets and directing a narrative that we hope still resonates with fans from around the world today.

Ironic story time: back in '23, I pulled an all-nighter as a big favor to create a last minute poster for A7X when they forgot to get someone to make one, then the deal fell through - when their team straight up put off giving approval until way past the print date.
I actually fully embrace AI. While I love physical art and the talented people who create it (myself being one of them) I also think the majority of designers I have worked with over the past 20 years are lazy and allowed themselves to be replaced due to complacency and greed. I prefer my prompts and the collective hive mind and efficiency of the future. Just my opinion but I embrace it. Also it will absolutely kill us all.
