Born on October 27, 1858, Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States, left a lasting mark on America’s public lands. During his presidency, he established five national parks, designated 18 national monuments, created 51 federal bird reservations, and protected approximately 230 million acres of public land for future generations. Today, you can celebrate his birthday by visiting a national park site for free!

Trivia Before it was Tropicana Field, it had the best name ever for a major league sports venue: The Thunderdome. It was home to the @TBLightning from 1993-96. It still has the NHL record for the most people to ever attend a playoff game --28,183 against the Flyers in 1996.

Billy Strings covering Pink Floyd’s “Fearless” 🔥 This one feels so natural in his hands. That laid-back, rootsy vibe meets classic Floyd — and it works perfectly. Billy just has a way of making everything sound like it was written for him. One of my favorite covers he’s done. What’s a song you never expected to hear Billy Strings cover? 👇

Sean Connery’s introduction in DR. NO (1962) became one of cinema’s most iconic moments. Director tweaked the timing of Connery’s lighter flick, letting the smoke clear before the line landed. A small adjustment that helped create movie history.

Rare 1928 footage of Bascom Lamar Lunsford and his band playing “Doggett Gap.” This is pure Appalachian music, filmed in Asheville the same year the Mountain Folk and Dance Festival began. Lunsford on fiddle and vocals, banjos and guitar locking in behind him — no polish, no stage lights, just the real thing. Watching this feels like opening a time capsule. The playing is loose but full of life, and you can almost feel the room they’re in. Some of the deepest roots of American music were already fully formed nearly a hundred years ago. Anyone else get chills from old footage like this?
