After 15 consecutive losses, we finally got back into the win column tonight (24-21). I was 1/1 FGs (46 yards) and 3/3 XPs. I also had the opportunity to represent our team as a captain tonight. With all of the transfers out of our school, it’s been a rough couple years. I'm so proud of my teammates and coaches for the relentless pursuit of continuous improvement we have shown. There’s no place I’d rather be. Go Wildcats!

After 6 consecutive FGs made, I had my first miss (48 yarder). Twelfth defender was running off of the field and our snapper was trying to get the penalty by snapping it early...as I was taking my side steps to get into position. While they did technically have 12 on the field, it was close enough that the ref wasn't sure and didn't throw the flag. Even with the awkward operation, I should be able to hit from that distance but in the scramble, I pulled it. Tough way to get my first miss of the season. Proud to say I bounced back on the next kick splitting the uprights from 41 yards. Also 2/2 XPs and 3/3 on attempted touchbacks. Fourth kickoff was a moonball returned to their own 23. Punts continue to be strong. 3 punts with a gross average of 45.3 and a net average of 44.3 yards. In the end, we lost 45-17.

Last night, we had our 13th consecutive loss. No XP attempts (we went for 2 on our only TD). 1/1 FGs brings me to 4/4 for the season and 80% for my career (12/15). Touchbacks on all 3 kickoffs. I only had 2 punts. The first was a 4.1s hang which after the penalties ended up pushing them back 56 yards to their 5 yard line. The returner nearly housed that punt so on the second punt, I angled it out of bounds (41 yard net).

Bye week update. Among active high school kickers in California (career stats), I am: #1 in 40+ yard FGs with 6, t-#4 in FG% (79%), and t-#7 in total FGs (11). Career stats came from MaxPreps min 10 career FG attempts. 2026 has been even better. I'm at 100% for FGs, XPs, and touchbacks (excluding 1 requested moonball). Back to 👷

Not the result we were looking for (we lost 47-3) but I took advantage of the 3 kicks I got tonight. I made my 6th career 40+ yard field goal, hit a 77 yard kickoff, and a 4.1 second kickoff when they had me hit the "moon ball" (returner tackled on their own 18).
