Photographed some beaver pond complexes this summer in the Hudson Bay Lowlands lying above the broadleaf treeline. The dams were very low and long, frequently spanning the floodplains surrounding the ~ 3 m wide streams and ending at beach ridges formed by post-glacial rebound

The second consecutive summer of severe gypsy moth caterpillar defoliation around the Frontenac Park area in ON. Oaks getting hit hardest and had only a weak second flush of leaves last year - hopefully healthy enough to do it again

Meet Don Fraser from #teamASG. Fun facts: his award-winning career in journalism also required him to be a mall Santa & mascot in a St. Catharines parade! He was a rower while studying at @UofT and @Carleton_U. Also stalked #ChristopherWalken on #Kingston film set for interview.

Our small field team from CCRS/NRCan just wrapped up five days of lichen plot sampling and UAV surveying in NWT with Darren P. from Environment Canada and @JurvdS from GNWT.
Testing the DJI Phantom 4 RTK and Micasense Altum multispectral UAV camera on a Matrice 210 in preparation for NWT field work. Would like to develop a workflow to register the Altum to the precise georeferencing from the Phantom RTK so that no GCPs are needed.
This would also allow pan-sharpening of the coarser Altum images - quality and usefulness of this tbd...
Altum surface reflectances using only camera corrections and a reference panel are pretty bang-on. Kudos to @MicaSense and also @pix4d (v4.5.2) for the robust work flow.
