A great explainer from @DrSimEvans about United Nations language. Helps explain just how weak this #COP28 language is...
The agreement "calls on" parties to be taking action on transitioning away from fossil fuels. Not a demand, but an invitation.

An important example of localised air pollution and the long-term impacts to local communities.
So I spent yesterday evening having a quiet night in. At around 11 pm I began to smell smoke *inside my flat*.
I went out to investigate…
This is a somewhat angry (but evidence-based) wood-burning thread.
*trigger warning* for urban wood-burners!

Climate change is not something that just impacts the physical environment. People are at the heart of this injustice.
Fossil fuels continue to pollute our air, showcased in the the Pollution Pod exhibition in the blue zone, something which major cities in the world continue to struggle with. These pods simulate air pollution in London, Beijing, and New Delhi. It was difficult to walk through and experience the intense dirty air so many cities already have.
A warming climate also brings more intense flooding, storms, heat and droughts. All of this puts communities around the world at risk of significant health issues. Doctors and medical and public health professionals are taking today to highlight the examples they are already seeing today.
