Daphne Caruana Galizia should be with us at @Europarl_EN tonight.
She should be here to see the journalists we honour in her name.
Journalists who, like Daphne, refuse to look away.
We remember Daphne. We will not stop fighting for the justice she deserves.

Enlargement is moving forward. The momentum is building.
Today, Ukraine and Moldova take another step forward, opening two more negotiation clusters. Montenegro has closed three additional chapters, while Albania has closed another.
Different countries, all making progress towards a stronger, safer, more united Europe.

20 years since Anna Politkovskaya was murdered.
A fearless journalist who refused to look away, even when facing threats and attempts on her life.
She refused to be silenced, continuing to speak out against corruption and abuse.
This week, we were honoured to welcome her granddaughter Anna Victoria to @Europarl_EN to remember Anna’s courage, her work and the terrible price she paid for it.
Her legacy lives on among us too, with our Brussels press room carrying her name.
We remember Anna. And we will never forget what she stood for.

Today the world marks three years since that black October 7th 2023.
Since that fateful morning when Hamas terrorists massacred 1195 people in Israel. Since 251 people, including young children and the elderly, were dragged from their homes and taken hostage.
Some days stay with you. The scars are still raw for so many.
The @Europarl_EN remembers the victims of that day of horror as we recommit to ending terrorism, finding a path to peace and redoubling our efforts to stamp out the ancient evil of antisemitism.

The @Europarl_EN stands strong against the targeting of women by deepfake pornography websites publishing false and altered images.
Instead of humiliating us, this empowers us.
Instead of silencing us, this makes us louder.
Instead of scaring us, this makes us more determined.
We cannot allow this to become the new normal. It must stop.
