A large fund told me in August that they could not buy our stock. Not that they did not want to. That they were not allowed.
Their rule is simple. No mineral resource estimate, no investment. It does not matter how good the drilling looks.
They were not the only one.
There are serious investors who have followed Nisk and Lion for two years, who know the geology better than most of our shareholders, and who could not put a dollar in. The project had not reached the point where their own process would let them evaluate it.
That is what an estimate actually is. Not a marketing document. An access document.
It takes a pile of drill results, which only a geologist can read, and turns them into something an independent qualified person will sign and a fund's investment committee will accept. Tonnes, grade, confidence category, cut-off. The same shape as every other project they look at.
So now they can run their own numbers instead of taking mine.
Some of them will do that work and pass. That is fine. What I could not do was keep asking people to back a story when their own rules would not let them read it.
The tonnage came in lower than we wanted. The door still opened.
A graphite supply deficit is building toward the end of the decade. Mining.com.au looks at where E-Power Resources fits in — pure-play graphite exploration at Tetepisca, kept capital-light.

Graphite is the quiet giant of the electric vehicle revolution — from Nouveau Monde’s Matawinie in Québec to Titan, Graphite One, Syrah, and E‑Power, new projects are racing to diversify supply chains beyond China as demand surges. The bottleneck is real, but solutions are emerging.

As the global energy transition accelerates, the race to develop next-generation battery technologies is beginning to reshape demand for a new suite of critical minerals.
According to @CnMetals, sodium-ion technology is emerging as a commercially viable alternative to lithium-ion batteries.

The nuclear build-out runs on graphite too.
Many advanced reactors, from small modular reactors to high-temperature gas-cooled and Generation IV designs, use high-purity graphite as a moderator and structural core material. As AI data centres drive demand for reliable baseload power, that is a second demand curve forming the same material that powers batteries.
One material, two of the decade's biggest build-outs. E-Power Resources (CSE:EPR, FSE:8RO) is advancing the flake graphite that sits upstream from both.
Graphite is not just a battery material. It is a defence material.
It goes into the anodes of large batteries, into heat-resistant coatings and lubricants for military hardware, and, in high-purity form, into the moderators of advanced nuclear reactors. Very few facilities outside China can process it to those grades.
That is why graphite sits on Western critical-minerals lists and why defence buyers are backing new supply. E-Power Resources (CSE: EPR) is advancing exactly the kind of allied-jurisdiction graphite that supply chain needs.
The United States imports 100% of its battery-grade natural graphite. Not most of it. All of it. A material that sits in every every grid-storage cell, every EV battery, and a growing list of defence systems is, at the battery-grade level, entirely imported. Supply chains like that get built where the resource is. North America’s known graphite is largely concentrated in Québec, and that is where E-Power Resources (CSE: EPR) is working.
You cannot secure a supply chain you do not have. We are helping to build one.
Every lithium-ion battery starts with graphite. Cathodes get the headlines: lithium, nickel, cobalt. The anode, the other half of every cell, is graphite. By weight, it is one of the largest single inputs in the pack, and there is no lithium-ion battery without it. As grid storage, defence systems, and EVs scale, demand for battery-grade graphite scales with them. E-Power Resources (CSE: EPR) is focused on one thing: advancing high-purity flake graphite in Québec to help supply that demand.
The battery story has two halves. We work on the half most people forget.
