Participated in e-waste disposal activity at the Department of Personnel & Training #DoPT headquarters under #Special_Swachhata_Campaign 6.0 at Kartavya Bhawan. The entire team of officers as well as rest of the staff, let by Secretary DoPT Smt Rachna Shah, joined the exercise.
e-Items disposed today included 152 desktops, 35 printers, 8 scanners, 3 photocopier machines, 59 UPS units, 52 air conditioners, 4 television sets, 5 refrigerators,17 water dispensers, 217 miscellaneous items etc, with base price of Rs 9 lakh.
During the ongoing month-long campaign from Gandhi Jayanti Oct 2 to Patel Jayanti Oct 31, undertaken in response to a call by PM Sh @narendramodi ji, approximately ₹490 crore has already been generated through the disposal of scrap within the first 15–17 days. The figure is likely to be more than double by October 31. GeM Portal has been adopted for the disposal process.

Dr. Srinivasa Kumar Tummala (@tummalasrini), Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (@moesgoi), led the Ministry’s participation at the 47th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS 2026), held in New Delhi.
Delivering the keynote address on “Earth System Sciences and Services for Blue Economy,” Dr. Srinivasa Kumar Tummala highlighted the role of Earth system observations, advanced weather and ocean forecasting, deep-ocean exploration and high-resolution modelling in strengthening scientific capabilities and delivering services for societal benefit.
Dr. Jagvir Singh, Scientist G and Adviser, MoES, along with representatives from MoES institutions, including @Indiametdept, @incoismoes, @MoesNiot, @ncaor_goa, @iitmpune and @ncmrwfmoes, participated in the session, highlighting scientific advancements and their applications in sustainable development.
Under the theme “Remote Sensing for Future Earth: Innovation, Inclusion & Impact,” ACRS 2026 highlights the role of remote sensing and geospatial technologies in advancing climate resilience and building a sustainable future.
