At ETS, we believe Europe does not have to choose between competitiveness and decarbonisation. The forest-based bioeconomy is already delivering low-carbon solutions, supporting jobs, and strengthening resilient value chains across Europe. We encourage stakeholders to follow the conversation as it continues to shape the future of Europe’s circular bioeconomy.
🌱 Decarbonisation ≠ Deindustrialisation By making #CircularChoices, Europe can cut emissions without losing industrial strength. The forest-based bioeconomy provides low-carbon alternatives, support millions of jobs, and strengthen value chains.

Sustainability and hygiene aren’t opposites - they can work together. As Europe advances the European Green Deal, policies should reflect real-world hygiene needs, especially during cold & flu season. Balanced policy protects both people and the planet. Even in February, cold and flu season is still going strong - a reminder that everyday hygiene choices matter. Single-use tissue helps reduce cross-contamination because it’s designed for one safe use and immediate disposal, especially important in shared spaces like offices, schools & public transport. Public health often starts with simple, well-designed solutions. europeantissue.com/tissue-pa…

At ETS, we start 2026 with optimism and a shared commitment to healthier, more resilient societies. As leaders gathered at the @wef World Economic Forum in Davos, one truth deserves more attention: hygiene is economic infrastructure. Across Europe, the tissue industry supports €36.6bn in value, 421k jobs, and keeps €0.91 of every €1 spent in local economies. Effective hygiene could also help prevent ~10m flu infections annually and unlock €1.47bn in productivity gains. In 2026, @ETSchoices calls for hygiene to be recognised as essential public health infrastructure - supporting resilience, jobs and healthier societies.
