While living on Kauai I obtained my master gardeners certification. I learned that if you puree your fruit and vegetable scraps and place it into your soil the microorganisms can compost it quickly. Soil health is the very first thing taught in this course.

You cannot write a tragedy without death or suffering. What makes a tragedy a success is the characters response to the inevitable.

One of the great things about being a #writer is that you are not constrained to other people's perceptions. My #mythology's sixth story will be about the origins of #Dragons and their role in the destruction of the third world. I promise they will not fit in with anyone's preconceptions. I tend to like to be original, creative, and imaginative with the creations of my mind.

I'm a product of the 1970's. I recall a song by Don Henley where the line is, "A man with a briefcase can steal more money than a man with a gun." Along comes a tech nerd and says, "I've got a computer degree and I'm always online. I can steal your identity and take away your last dime." Oh how I hate the broken promises of the digital revolution.

As a writer I visualize a scene and then attempt to find the words to adequately describe for a reader. In my 5th book, the ending scene between the two queens has to absolutely have the right words. I won't describe the scene, but the goal is to have the reader stop reading and to deal with the emotions I seek. The scene has been written, but the words uttered are still a challenge.

For those that still follow this page, I apologize for the delays in writing my books and getting the trilogy back online. I am currently completing the fifth book of the overall 19 story mythology. This and the 4th book are a series of nine stories that are all tragedies, the fall of nine worlds, back stories to the original trilogy. This book is about two queens. One that comes to the crown legitimately (Tamylla) and one that falls to evil influences and kills her entire royal family (Maggith), sets upon a path to destroy Tamylla, over a male character perceived the spurning of her affections (Talen). Based on lust and pride (two of the seven powers of destruction). Researching the evil queens of real history provides some of the actions Maggith will take. Researching impalement processes is my current task. I will begin posting more details and release dates. facebook.com/profile.php?id=…

Why do I write? Because I have had an highly active imagination since a child. The stories that develop in my mind need to find a place other than in my head. My career as an accountant suppressed that imagination until the year 2000 when a large story began building in my mind. It took ten years to complete the first part of that journey. Then other obstacles came in the way, that shelved this vision until now. All I can say to other writers is to never give up. You only get one life, so spend part of it being a story-teller.

I have two children and six #grandchildren, the last grandchild born just a week ago. All eight will have a place in my books. If they are the only ones to read them, my life mission is complete - never give up on a dream, learn as much as you can, and live life to its fullest. Erma Bombeck "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me'."

Do you have lyrics from a song that defines who you are? Mine would be from the song, "I Want It All" from Queen. "I'm a man with a one track mind, too much to do in one lifetime." How about you?

Just got back home from a long trip (4,100 miles) from New Mexico to Virginia and back. The main attraction was the arrival of our 6th, and final, grandchild. On the way back we also drove through West Virginia which I thought was beautiful, and then to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. Forgot to take my camera, so no Daily Ahs from this trip. Glad to be back as we rest for our June trip to Banff National Park in Alberta Canada. I will make sure the camera is sitting next to our luggage.
