Dr. King went into the eye of every storm. Passive Resistance is not for the weak. WE chose to confront our bullies at every juncture, knowing they were brutal; we deserve our rights, we're NOT turning back, and they were in the way. That took ingenuity and profound courage.
I put these two clips of Daddy together because I want to share him saying “I’m tired of marching,” then, after continuing the multifaceted work of nonviolence, saying “I’ve been to the mountaintop.”
The 2nd clip is from the speech he gave the night before he was assassinated.

I woke up with this song on my Spirit.
"From deep in my soul, I wish you
Happy Feelings..."
Frankie Beverly and Maze, "Happy Feelings."
He's like, "If I don't keep going, I'm on the decline. God is good to me, so Imma go down fighting."

Gabourey Sidibe REVEALS she used to work as a phone sex operator and was told to use the name "Becky" because she didn't sound Black. She explains that the company pushed her to sound like a white girl because that's what male callers expected, before opening up about the wild character scripts she wrote and the heartbreaking calls she took from deployed soldiers overseas.
"They gave me the name Becky because I was 21 and I had a high-pitched little voice... and it was a good thing to them that I didn't sound Black, because the men on the phone expect to speak to a white girl”

History has been made in the U.S. Virgin Islands!
Stacey Plaskett has been elected governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, becoming the first Black woman elected governor of any U.S. state or territory. She will also become the first woman elected to lead the territory in more than five decades.
Since 2015, Plaskett has represented the Virgin Islands in Congress, making history as the first territorial delegate appointed to the House Ways and Means Committee. She also served as an impeachment manager during Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial in 2021.
Congratulations to Governor-elect Stacey Plaskett and Lieutenant Governor-elect Milton Potter!
I know a few Black girls whew grew up to publish newspapers, magazines, and books. I know some Black boys who grew up to pilot aircrafts. There's no limit to what the human mind can do. Skin color is the outfit we were born to accomplish with.

Interesting. That's what Republicans did when Obama was in office, with 2 seats to appoint, and they refused him that right, claiming it was "too close to the election."
But then, rushed to a COVID super-spreader September event to slip AMY in after Ruth Ginsburg passed away.
🔥🚨 WOW! — Sen. Ted Cruz says Democrats are about to start an “all-out partisan war” now that they’ve taken both chambers of Congress.
CRUZ: “I think Schumer and the Democrats will just halt all judges, which means if we have a Supreme Court vacancy, I think they’ll keep the vacancy open for two years.”
He didn’t stop there. Cruz expects the House to impeach Trump, maybe more than once, and to go after his family and his cabinet with subpoenas and investigations.
He even said he expects Pete Hegseth to be impeached. He said all of it on the All-In midterms live show.
Anyone who lived through 2019 knows he’s not wrong.
Buckle up. 🇺🇸

🔥🚨 WATCH — Mike Tyson was spotted out on the ground in New Hampshire on Election Day helping get out the vote, per Benny Johnson.
Iron Mike didn't phone it in. He showed up in person.
Democrats had a big night across the country, and a lot of Republicans woke up this morning asking what went wrong.
The folks who knocked doors and stood in line didn't do anything wrong.
Respect, Champ. 🇺🇸

The best part about tonight's Blue Tsunami is that Senate control won't rely on John Fetterman.
He can go fly a kite with Ted Cruz.
