British businesses have paid £7.7bn in import and export declaration costs over the past four years. With rising costs and mounting pressures on businesses, we need to be far bolder on economic growth. The Government’s EU reset is welcome, but it must go much further. @AlPinkerton

Support for EU Membership has never been higher amongst the 27 member states’ public. It currently stands at an average of 80% support. Almost two thirds of UK voters also believe that the UK should return to the EU mainstream.

The #RefUK Leader’s fame and longevity has in no small part been due to #BBCBias4Brexit and #BBCFarageFanClub. If he thinks he is being hard done by, he should remind himself of which MEPs were on #BBCQT 2009-2019 how often and whether they were for or against #Brexit.
On the day that a Reform Councillor was charged with 35 offences, including 12 counts of rape and making indecent images of a child, Farage’s party accuses the BBC of bias for reporting on their sleaze bag Councillors. Simply unfit to be anywhere near high office.

t#RefUK Leader Farage found at fault again for his political forecasts. Funnily enough he managed to correctly calculate the #EURef2016 result enough in advance to short-sell Sterling and make a killing. Had he seen secret opinion polling predicting the result correctly?
Brexit, Truss’s mini-budget, this… He really doesn’t get much right. 😬

Young people deserve the opportunities to live, work and study across Europe that previous generations enjoyed. Matthew Patrick presses the government to restore those opportunities, as Louise Haigh confirms talks with the EU on a youth experience scheme are underway.

Please stop resharing this and tagging prominent Brexiteers like @Nigel_Farage @TiceRichard @RupertLowe10 @ZiaYusufUK and similar. They are all extremely busy people and if they get thousands of notifications it could get in the way of their very important work elsewhere.
This seems like a great time to reshare my favourite Sir Patrick Stewart performance, ‘What has the ECHR ever done for us?’ It’s just perfect in every possible way … including the ending 😂😂😂 RIP. 🎥 The Guardian

Farmers have told the world and his wife that it was you badly botched #Brexit deal, which left us with SPS controls being introduced for our exports, but not EU imports. It was Truss’ terrible Aussie deal, which further harmed farmers’ livings.

Yet more evidence that it is currently impossible to hold an informed conversation about the EU in public. The #ToxicTabloidTroika and their misleading media mogul owners cannot help themselves from reverting to anti-EU, Farage-friendly fantasy and stereotyping.
🚨 The Times is playing inflammatory games with this 👇 headline. This is a negotiation over when foreign offenders can be removed from the UK, not a demand to let serious criminals stay here. And the article itself says ministers have not agreed to the draft wording; talks are ongoing. Let’s debate the actual terms when there’s a deal, not dress an unresolved negotiation up as “Brussels taking control of our borders” ‼️

Britain needs growth. Closer ties with Europe must be part of the answer. Ed Davey points to Goldman Sachs’ analysis as he makes the economic case for joining the single market and a customs union.

Putting barriers between Britain and our European trading partners was always going to hurt the economy. Lib Dem MP Bobby Dean argues that joining the single market would help recover lost opportunities, while closer cooperation with Europe is needed more than ever.

Very good news and takes the wind out of the sails of all the former #Leavers. No Schengen or the €uro as prerequisites to #JoinEU again. 🇪🇺🇬🇧

The 2016 referendum was the most fraudulent and corrupt vote in British history. It does not deserve to have the legitimacy which having another referendum now would give it.

Farage talks b*llocks on Russian interference in EURef2016 and British democracy more generally. Quelle surprise!
Nigel Farage has called Andy Burnham “a liar” after the PM said he had been told Russia interfered in the 2016 Brexit referendum. As usual Farage is talking boll**** Get the actual FACTS here👇

@BBCRosAtkins @BenChu_ @BBCPolitics are you able to clear up these misleading statements by James Cleverly, MP, please? ⬇️ Both the claims on VAT and the impact of #Brexit on UK economic growth are misleading and pretty clearly so.
WHY IS UK MEDIA NOW SO UNPROFESSIONAL ???? CAN'T THEY CHALLENGE ANF CORRECT A LOAD OF BOLLOKS ????????

See Farrukh’s comments below, plus ours. @Ofcom - should @BBCPolitics journalists not be knowledgeable enough to refute such untruths on air, rather than just let them pass as truth? The Corporation has a statutory duty to “educate and inform,” not mislead and disinform.
This is going to be a routine tactic now for ex- #Kippers #Brextremists #RefUKers and #Leavers. The economic shock of #Covid19 was very short-term and sudden. The cost of #Brexit has been cumulative and chronic. 1/3

You lost the freedom to live, work, study and retire in 27 other EU Member States through #Brexit. The European Convention on Human Rights protects your individual freedoms against an overbearing state. What freedom have you gained that you did not already enjoy, whilst in EU?

UK economic growth has trailed the EU’s since leaving. The worst decline of all compared to 92-16. Why? A badly botched #Brexit. #VoteLeave was a litany of #LeaveLies which together constitute #TheBigLie. No surprise that those who brought us a disaster continue to mislead.

James Cleverly’s claim that the UK couldn’t cut VAT because we were in the EU is wrong. In 2008, while the UK was an EU member, the government cut standard VAT from 17.5% to 15%. And in July 2020, during the Brexit transition period, the government cut VAT to 5% on certain hospitality and tourism services. EU rules allowed reduced rates on eligible services. Covid and the war in Ukraine make Brexit’s precise economic impact harder to isolate. They don’t make it impossible to estimate: the OBR still forecasts that the UK’s post-Brexit trading relationship will reduce long-run productivity by 4% compared with staying in the EU.
