From “growth in every postcode” to “a wind up radio in every postcode.” In a staggeringly short period of time. You genuinely couldn't make it up.
Labour in July: We’re bringing hope in every heart. Labour now: We urge you to stockpile on food and water. Get a torch, sleeping bags, cash and a wind-up radio!

What most people don't know: when you fill up a petrol car most of the energy never moves it. Petrol car: 13–21% of the crude oil's energy reaches wheels. Electric car on today's UK grid: 43–45%. Electric car on wind+solar: 77–80%.

One of the smartest things a young person could do is get a remote civil servant job while starting a business. These jobs are totally made up. There’s no real work to be done. Lots of meetings about the latest nonsensical initiative. Basically log into MS Teams, listen to your boss drone on about the 17 new safety protocols to observe while sitting at your desk. You don’t have to have your camera on or engage - just say that it triggers your anxiety. Literally no chance of getting fired. More people die in the civil service each year than get fired. Meanwhile you can be pre-launch in your startup. Conducting research, getting customers to engage, building your waitlist. All the while you’ll be getting paid and accumulating a pension. There are very few genuine passive income opportunities available but government jobs are a real thing. Be smart kids, get a remote government job. Do the work in 30mins a day. Sit through the pointless meetings. Get paid. Then launch your startup.

The bus prices have now become extortionate £7.50 from Mereoak park and ride. You’re only going 1.5 miles.

Ticket prices too high (£25-30) bus prices too high (£8🤣) , parking too expensive (£15🤣). Footy ain’t the most inspiring and the atmosphere is dead as a result. We really are a million miles off where we should be. And it’s fixable. #readingfc @RCouhig

I have just removed my hosted listing from Airbnb. I am not registering with Welsh Government, charging a tourist tax and compiling loads of paperwork. I can no longer be bothered with yet another enterprise facing more paperwork. I am done. Sorry local economy but I’ve hit my limit of Government interference and red tape in my life. No more visitors from me.

Replying to @Eastreadingcom
Absolutely! ❤️ And a brilliant recommendation. The Victorian replica at Reading Museum is a remarkable piece of work in its own right, and being able to see it for free is rather wonderful. We'd actively encourage anyone who can to visit. Our little digital sticker album is certainly no substitute for standing in front of the real thing, or indeed a beautifully crafted replica. Although ours does have the advantage that you can collect the entire tapestry in your pyjamas without anyone at the museum raising an eyebrow. 😂🪡

Around 1.5 million households rely on heating oil to warm their homes Prices have nearly doubled over the past year. Many of these households are in rural areas and with elderly residents. And still the Labour government do nothing ~ even as temperatures are dropping.
