I was listening to the latest episode of Ebuka Obi-Uchendu's MENtality, and he said something that should shake anybody awake: Nigeria🇳🇬 has over 130 million people living in poverty, more poor people than the entire population of Ethiopia🇪🇹, Africa’s second‑most populous nation. When a society has that many people who’ve never even seen wealth, worshipping it becomes almost inevitable. He gave an example: A plumber in a U.S. trailer park, literally living in a car, still travels twice a year because his income allows him to dream. Meanwhile, less than 10% of Nigerians have ever left the country, not because they don’t want to, but because they simply can’t afford it. So yes, in Nigeria, the money conversation is unavoidable. We drive through VI and Ikeja pretending everything is normal, while an entire army of frustrated young men & women is rising. They’re not begging anymore. They’re angry. And when they see wealth, the question becomes: “How dare you drive a G‑Wagon? How dare you even drive a Prado?”This isn’t envy; it’s survival pressure boiling over. What can be done?
