I think the hardest part of writing is starting a new chapter. I never know where to begin and looking at a blank page is so daunting.
The beginning of the end: first day of my last field season as a PhD Candidate. In the same bunk room at Mount John that I've stayed in the last 3 summers. Feeling a bit sentimental, but let the countdown begin!
Applied for my first postdoc and it was my dream position, and in exactly the same field as my PhD. Didn't get an interview. Maybe it's just a bad day but I didn't realize how awful it would make me feel.
