L’Jarius is getting beat up in the slot, man. Every time there’s a play from there, he’s trailing.

A Chiefs meeting never gets leaked to media unless a point needs to be made. This screams the Club saying something along the lines of 'it's on him .. not us, we did our best'
Before he was placed on IR, #Chiefs LT Josh Simmons was told to leave a team meeting by coach Andy Reid and QB Patrick Mahomes.

I feel like more happened beyond what’s being told. I’m ready to move on if they are

For this Giannis and Bam duo to hit its peak together they have to be ELITE defensively
The offense is going to look clunky at times but Spo has to figure out how to turn this into a defensive monster
It needs to start at the defensive end with this team

Davion Mitchell has his flaws but I don't want to see any slander on his name
He at least always plays with energy every night

This isn't about 3-point shot variance.
Watching this team the past 4 quarters, just standing still, is befuddling after all the talk of connectivity and passion in training camp and the preseason.

Bam so ass right now I'm about ready to start cussin

I've never seen Bam as slow to 50-50 balls as he's been the first two games of this season

Erik Spolestra scrapping his defensive gameplan from the past few seasons when the personnel now fits it better is one of the dumbest things I've seen him do

I’m not sure what you’re trying to ask? I’m calling out the process of what happened here. The guy ramps up for a week, is totally fine, the head coach doesn’t make mention that he won’t be practicing Wednesday, and then all of a sudden he misses practice and they said it was scheduled. They also labeled it as “back/personal” which is odd. Then Rick says what he said today about things. I am trying to tell people that that discussion yesterday, talking to your doctors and getting second opinions and all that, doesn’t happen on a Wednesday after a ramp up week. It happens Monday or Tuesday when you’re there every day doing rehab and talk about how you’ve been feeling, how you are that day, what the next week will look like. Coach also said Monday that they were going to continue the ramp up period this week. So all of those factors tells me the expectation was that he would practice Wednesday and continue the ramp up, until much closer to practice when he said he wasn’t ready. Then it became an “ok well what the heck do we do next” situation. Also Rick saying he’s “plateaued,” man he’s only had one week of individual drill work. How can you “plateau” after that little practice time, when again the messaging just this week was that they don’t know about the game but they’d continue the progression. Rick also said surgery isn’t recommended right now. So he has an injury that has caused him to miss two months, got better, he practiced some, then it plateaued, he needs at least another month to keep recovering, but surgery isn’t recommended? How does that make sense either? So all I’m saying is that this still smells fishy and we’re not getting the full story.

I see people arguing back & forth about Josh Simmons and there's really not anybody having a point to stand on:
-If your point is that it's not his back and it's something more and he doesn't want to play. That's speculation that he's earned but we will never factually know that unless something changes
-If your point was SEE he was always just hurt and is still hurt. You're choosing to take everything at face value which is fine. But the Chiefs weren't forthcoming before when he left the team and the timeline with him this year has been unusual.
Nobody really has a concrete point on either just arguing about the nuance of the framing. Regardless, whatever you believe you can't count on him for 2027 and beyond. He's either injury prone, having issues we don't know about or immature. Nobody won here.

This whole thing doesn’t pass the smell test, yet again. You don’t do that on a Wednesday coming off a “ramp up” week where you practice every day and the wording has been that he’s going to continue that process. I do not know anything but this screams of the team expecting him to be practicing, him saying he’s not healthy, and then a big back and forth between the two sides.
