This interview with GabeN is quite interesting: “Perhaps unsurprisingly, Newell believes that LLM tools are the next great technological leap, and are going to prove so transformative that this is where people should focus their learning.“ pcgamer.com/software/ai/gabe…

Shigeru Miyamoto shared thoughts on generative AI and its meaning for creativity in game development. He compared AI to the evolution of computers and design tools. As technology handles more technical work, human design sense and creative judgment grow more important. Miyamoto distinguishes between “creating something” and “doing the work.” Creating starts with deciding what to make, building the overall structure, and having clear intention. The work that follows fills in details, polishes, and executes the idea. “People can become so satisfied with the work itself that they start mistaking that satisfaction for having created something good.” Miyamoto believes AI taking over repetitive work could give people more chances to focus on what they truly want to create. “The more AI takes care of all kinds of tasks for us, the more opportunities we all have to think seriously about what it really means to create something.” He acknowledges AI could eventually handle almost everything in the creative process, but for now: “I think there’s still plenty that we humans can do.”

I used my entire school library allowance to check out every single one of these books. Both the fiction and the non-fiction. The late Stephen Biesty made learning about the world fun! Imagine how technology could let kids explore cross sections of engineering marvels today…

Sounds like Alexander Hamilton was in favor of domestic, technological acceleration; deeming it necessary for national prosperity.
Alexander Hamilton fought anti-automation and pro-import arguments in the 1700s that hardly differ from the modern day.

Jordan Watkins caught a pass for the 49ers, got both of his feet down in-bounds in the end zone and the refs lawyered up and ruled it incomplete. Needed AI to try to explain it (even though I have played 7 years of football). Maybe @SouthPark was right to call it Sarcastaball?

Earth is 25,000 miles around, so dead reckoning without guidance systems to a splashdown within 4 miles of the rescue carrier group is quite a feat! Definitely going to read up on Gordon Cooper.
Every guidance system on his capsule failed in orbit. He drew lines on his window, aimed it using the stars, and timed reentry with his wristwatch. He landed just 4 miles from the carrier

PS5 owners are now running PC games from Steam directly on the console, without streaming. A project called Playden uses a Wine-based compatibility layer to run Windows games on jailbroken PS5 consoles. Games like Cyberpunk 2077, Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Portal 2 and Dead Cells have already been shown running. Playstation has no limits
