Last week, four juniors completed a service project after school at La Soupe in Walnut Hills. They made and packaged 225 sandwiches for neighbors in need. The team at La Soupe was impressed with how quickly and how well they worked; they even prepped ingredients for the next crew. Good job preventing food waste and helping our neighbors living with food insecurity! Students pictured: Caleb Coleman, Landon Hogel, Hunter Crawford-Durbin, Aven Johnson #Altiora

Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Patrick Dinkelacker ‘72 spoke to Mr. Jansing’s Business Law Class this week. Judge Dinkelacker discussed his vast experience over many years as a Hamilton County Prosecutor, Common Pleas Judge, and Appellate Judge in Hamilton County. He reviewed some of his difficult criminal cases and related sentencing, the current types of cases he oversees, and the issues that come before him for civil matters. Judge Dinkelacker’s presentation helped to expand the topics and experience for the class into criminal and civil matters and the role of the judiciary. #Altiora

A WICKED Good Time at Elderama! From creatively decorated tables to guests who fully embraced the theme, this year's Elderama was a night to remember! A big thank you to our chair couples, Ashley & Jason ’96 Bovard and Jeana and Kevin ’88 Kelly; our auction coordinator, Mary Beth Meyer; all of our sponsors; and everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. While the final numbers are still being tallied, we're excited to share that more than $92,000 was raised for Elder's Family Crisis Fund! Thank you for your incredible generosity and continued support of Elder High School. What a night! #Altiora

Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Jeff Woltz and the entire Colerain and St. Xavier communities following his sudden passing. Jeff devoted much of his life to working with young people as an educator, administrator, and coach. His loss is felt by so many, and we join both school communities in keeping his family, students, fellow educators, and athletes in our thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace.

Today we celebrated Mass as a school community. The first reading today reminds us, "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." These are the values we instill in our students each day as they strive toward Altiora. Thanks to Fr. Mike Willig and Deacon Bill Jones for celebrating Mass with us. #Altiora

Thanks to the Elder community, we finished with 12,453 gallons pumped, beating St. Xavier’s 9,728 gallons by 2,725 gallons! $5,622.65 will be donated to Elder’s Tuition Assistance Program. The support continues! Elder will continue earning 5¢ per gallon at the BP on Glenway (near the Chick-fil-A)  through December 15, 2026. Thank you to everyone who fueled the rivalry and supported Elder students! #Altiora

Congrats to our McDonald's and LaRosa's Students of the Month for the month of September! Jacob was nominated by He was nominated by one of his teachers, Mr. Rogers. He said, “In only the first week of class, I have noticed a higher level of interest and attention in this student than I have in many years of teaching. His disposition and energy are unmatched, and the way he attacked our first two projects in my Dramatic Techniques class is unprecedented in my years here. He is the kind of student that when you look out at the class makes you glad you decided to become a teacher.” Tyler and Joey were nominated by Mr. Weber. He said, “These two men volunteered to work the Elderama Gift Gathering Party on Saturday, August 29th. Their responsibilities included greeting guests, helping carry gifts from cars to the registration table, selling split-the-pot chances, and staying afterward to help with cleanup. What stood out to me was how well they represented themselves and Elder High School. They were comfortable talking and interacting with guests and confidently asking people to participate in the split-the-pot. They worked hard, had fun, and never hesitated to jump in wherever they were needed.” #Altiora
