[Starter for @ANotchedArrow] For three weeks Kate had interrupted the same pattern: small exchanges of unmarked crates, men who scattered after a single arrow through a tire or a shoulder. No high-value targets. No backup. On the fourth night in the warehouse district she dropped from the catwalk with her bow already drawn and ordered the men away from the van. They froze. One of them looked past her. A figure in a matte black catsuit closed the remaining distance in a single silent rush, face fully covered. Kate turned and loosed. The arrow struck center-mass and stopped. The figure did not slow or stagger. It continued forward, already inside her guard, and drove a short palm-heel strike into the center of her chest. The force folded her. The bow hit the concrete. She was unconscious before she reached the ground. The operative secured Kate’s wrists, lifted her without effort, and carried her to the waiting van. The doors closed. The vehicle left the district. Time passed in transit. When it stopped she was carried from the van into a different structure, through corridors, and into a dim room. There she was placed in a chair and secured—wrists, ankles, and torso bound with thick straps that held even when her weight shifted. Her bow and quiver were already gone. Kate’s eyes opened. A figure in armor and mask stood a short distance in front of her, cape hanging still. The voice that followed was calm and faintly amused. “So it appears I have finally seized the hawk that has been raiding my nests.” Doom did not step closer. He simply watched her, hands clasped behind his back.

It was with that open invitation that Doom would soon correct himself. The blown kiss, the knowing look on her face, playing with fire... He took a step forward before she could make her way out of the room. "Let me escort you to your room, Ms. Walters..." Ever the gentleman, but his motive was clear.
