Firing complete! The first stage for the maiden flight of our suborbital Proton-X rocket has completed a 83-second firing ahead of flight in December!

Bye bye, second stage! This video was taken by one of our EarthComms satellite, as it separated from @EclipseSpaceKSP’s Helix’s second stage!

Thanks for the ride, @EclipseSpaceKSP! We have made contact with all 4 of the satellites, and we have confirmed that they have deployed their solar panels, and oriented their antennas towards Earth!

Following the engine malfunction on Hydrogen‘s first flight, teams have certified the two engines for Hydrogen’s next flight with several upgrades that were tested. The engines are currently getting prepared to be installed on the second stage, ahead of a static fire.

Teams have delayed the launch by 24 hours, however, both the vehicle and the payload continue to be in good health.

Fire up! Following completion of load testing last week, the first stage for Hydrogen’s second flight completed an 85-second firing in preparation for flight. The first stage will now be prepared for transport to Sriharikota.

Hydrogen is going reusable. Starting with Flight 2, we will begin trying to recover Hydrogen’s first stage via parachute. The stage can return to both a splashdown or a land landing, increasing flexibility across missions.

Views of Hydrogen as it lifted off for its maiden flight yesterday.

Today, we launched Hydrogen’s first flight, with the ambitious goal of reaching orbit. Even though we fell short of that goal, we achieved all three of our main goals - liftoff, clearing the tower and stage separation. And as a bonus, we even got to space. (1/3)

We have experienced an anomaly during the final phase of the second stage burn. The second stage separated and the kickstage ignited, however, the sequence was anomalous. Stay tuned for more updates.

During the countdown to Hydrogen’s maiden flight earlier today, teams encountered an issue with the umbilical arm of the second stage. As a result, we are standing down from today’s launch attempt. We are now targeting Saturday, October 10, 2026, 5:30 PM IST for liftoff.

With only 24 hours left until the launch of Hydrogen, here’s everything you can expect from tomorrow’s flight. Our main goal for this flight remains to achieve liftoff, clear the tower and get to stage separation.

One final journey. Over the morning, teams rolled out Hydrogen, now with its payload attached to our Commercial Launch Pad at Sriharikota. Teams have confirmed that Hydrogen and EarthComms-0 remain in good health. T-48 hours and counting.

On Sunday, teams completed encapsulation of EarthComms-0 inside the fairing! Earlier today, teams hoisted up the fairing and EarthComms-0 and stacked it atop the kickstage - completing the Hydrogen stack for the maiden flight!

While Hydrogen’s maiden flight is on the horizon, the first stage and second stage for Hydrogen’s second flight have already begun load testing at our facilities in Bangalore, ahead of launch NET November.
