Available in navy blue or black, with white logo - the perfect gift for you, or your loved ones this holiday season! Cosy fleece lining, front pocket, and generous hood with ties. Cotton/polyester mix - machine washable. £29.95 plus p&p All profits will help our charity mission which is to Protect Our Protectors - supporting retired dogs and horses from the UK police; prison; border force; fire and rescue; RAF police; MOD police; National Crime Agency; and NHS with medical and veterinary bills once their careers have come to an end. When our four-legged heroes retire, public funding stops, and affordable insurance can be a challenge, especially with pre-existing health and physical conditions. The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals gifts free financial grants to help cover the inevitable vet bills as animals get older. We now have almost 800 veteran animals registered with our family, German Shepherds, Malinois, Spaniels, Labradors, Vizslas, Pointers, and many more breeds of dog; while Irish Draughts, Irish Skewbalds, Thoroughbreds, and Czech Warmbloods make up our equestrian family, and we have gifted £330,000 since our launch in 2022. By ordering your autumn hoodie from our shop, you will be helping us to achieve our promise to be there for every member of the NFRSA family. Thank you for your support. nfrsa.org.uk/shop

Laurence and Lady B concocted the 2026 Snow Ball cocktail last week, made largely of the Rinky Dinky Pink Gin - made especially for the NFRSA by Fox’s Kiln Distillery and with a donation for every sale going towards our mission. Our Work Continues With Another Grant for a Retired Hero RPD Indy enjoyed an outstanding eight-year career with @PoliceDogDorset as both a General-Purpose Dog and Firearms Support Dog, serving with dedication and distinction throughout her working life. Last month, Indy’s mum reached out to us for support when Indy required specialist mobility boots to help her walk more comfortably. The PawsUp adaptive mobility device has been designed to protect, stabilise and support the paw by increasing flexion and encouraging proper paw alignment. These specialist boots can: Provide stability for dogs experiencing limping, unsteady gait, or wobbly walking. Help correct knuckling by increasing paw flexion and improving paw positioning. Knuckling occurs when a dog walks or stands on the top of its paw rather than on the paw pad, which can significantly affect mobility and comfort. The NFRSA was delighted to assist with the cost of Indy’s veterinary care and specialist equipment, helping to ensure this gorgeous retired hero can enjoy her retirement with the comfort and quality of life she deserves. We wish Indy a speedy recovery and extend our heartfelt thanks for her years of loyal service protecting our communities. 💜🐾 🐾 Over 800 heroes registered 💝 Over £325,000 gifted in grants ❤️ 100% supporter funded 🇬🇧 Supporting retired Police, Prison, Fire, Border Force, NHS, MOD Police, NCA, and RAF Police service animals

We love a happy ending… And we wanted to share a beautiful update… Do you remember RPD Maggie? Maggie is a gorgeous Springer Spaniel who served as an explo dog for 7 years with @NSPoliceDogsand @SuffolkPolice - she ruptured her cruciate ligament over the summer, and required urgent and major surgery. Her family reached out to us and there was no question - Maggie had her surgery and we gifted a grant of over £4,000 to help cover the costs. Look at her now… Back to her cheeky, wonderful self and you’d never know there had been anything wrong. This is all down to YOU. Her family are incredibly grateful for the support you give the NFRSA to make this possible. Keep going Maggie! It was a privilege to be invited by the RAF Provost Marshal - @RAF__Police - to attend the 2026 Royal Air Force Police Military Working Dogs Trials Final yesterday. @RoyalAirForce An exemplary display of the extraordinary bond and working partnership between police dog and handler, exhibiting the skills they use every day, keeping our RAF bases across the world safe. We saw German Shepherd, (GSD), Belgian Malinois, Labrador, and German Shorthaired Pointer - all beautiful. A great opportunity to catch up with the RAF MWD Police Dog Community, and to see representatives from @DogsHmpps - @WMPolice and @SuffolkPolice collaborating, sharing best practices and methods for the good of the remarkable animals who do so much for us. We are incredibly proud to be able to support retired RAF MWDs once their careers have come to an end, and yesterday brought home the amazing job they do. Congratulations to the finalists and the winners - Corporal Evans and MWD Katy from @RAFConingsby, as well as all the winners of much deserved awards. A very happy day, spent with amazing people. Enjoy the reel! 🐕🐾Our work continues Meet RPD Mac, an 8-year-old Labrador who proudly served with @Sussex Police for six years as an Explosive Detection Dog. Throughout his distinguished career, Mac worked across a variety of environments, primarily at airports, and was regularly deployed to high-profile events involving large crowds and celebrity appearances. Calm, focused, and exceptionally skilled, Mac played a vital role in keeping the public safe and was greatly respected by both his handler and colleagues. When Mac recently required emergency veterinary treatment for a wound to his right paw, the NFRSA was pleased to provide a grant to help support his family with the associated costs. Thankfully, following assessment and treatment, including antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication to prevent infection, Mac was able to begin his recovery. We are honoured to support retired police dogs like Mac, who have dedicated their lives to protecting others. 💜🐕 🐾 Over 750 heroes registered 💝 Over £320,000 gifted in grants ❤️ 100% supporter funded 🇬🇧 Supporting retired Police, Prison, Fire, Border Force, NHS, MOD Police, NCA, and RAF Police service animals

In Memory of Khobi. We are very sad to share we have lost a much-loved NFRSA family member, RPD Khobi. Retired Police Dog Khobi was a handsome black German Shepherd (GSD) who served with Greater Manchester Police @GMPDogs @gmpolice for nearly seven years, working alongside his handler, Lynne. From locating missing people and recovering property to detaining offenders, Khobi approached every task with dedication, courage, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the communities of Manchester. He was a remarkable police dog. In 2022, Khobi completed his operational career and finally hung up his harness, beginning a well-deserved retirement. But retirement didn’t mean taking things easy. Khobi took on a very important new role – becoming the protective older brother to his three sisters, Missy, Star and Ginny - and even the garden fox, who used to sit with him in the garden. Lynne shared some beautiful memories of Khobi’s retirement with us: “Ginny the black cocker spaniel is the youngest and last addition to his pack. She has loved tormenting him and he has loved playing and teaching her just how far she can push it. Missy adored lying next to him after a hard day at work and Star the Springer Spaniel, who was once his work buddy, became his retirement buddy. “He has enjoyed every minute of his retirement, through paddling pools and ball games, and he has lived life to the full. “At almost 13 years old he has done well not to need any major medical assistance and led a fairly pain free life however, when we needed them this year, the NFRSA have been there. For that I will be forever grateful. “Thank you for helping me with his veterinary bills, the final bill, and the phone call to make sure I was ok - and thank you to everyone who donates to the NFRSA for helping them to help us. It really is much appreciated.” Khobi may have retired from police work, but he never stopped being a very special part of the family, and as a member of the NFRSA family, it was our privilege to be able to support him when he fell ill, and at the final moment as he left. Thank you, Khobi. For your service, your dedication, and for everything you gave to the communities you protected. Sleep well - never forgotten. ____________ ❓𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞:The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals - UK reg. charity. 🫶𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨: Support retired service animals (who can struggle to find affordable insurance) with vet and medical bills. 🐾🐴𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩: Retired dogs and horses from the police; and retired dogs from the prison; border force; fire & rescue; MOD police; RAF police; NHS; and National Crime Agency services. Poor Retired Border Force Detector Dog Teal. She’s been in the wars today bless her, and after having had a few teeth removed, this beautiful Springer Spaniel is safely back home - but not entirely sure whether it’s Easter or Christmas… Anaesthesia does that to you. But we’ve been on hand to help with the vets dental bill and that’s what we like to sink our teeth into (terrible pun - apologies) - taking care of the medical costs of our retired heroes. Get well soon Teal - your Mum is a top nurse and you’ll be good as new in no time. 🐕Our work continues with another grant for a retired hero RPD Dexter served as an active drug search and mobile phone detection dog for HMPPS South East Probation Region @hmpps for seven years. Throughout his distinguished career, Dexter made numerous successful finds and played an important role in maintaining safety and security. In August, Dexter underwent veterinary investigations, including chest X-rays, which revealed thickened bronchial tubes. Following diagnosis, he has begun a course of monthly medication and is recovering well. The NFRSA was delighted to contribute towards the cost of Dexter’s veterinary treatment, helping to ensure this dedicated retired hero receives the care he needs and can enjoy the happy and comfortable retirement he deserves. Thank you for your service, Dexter. 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐁’𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐲 - 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬, 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝐚 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞. I am beginning to realise announcing a weekly blog requires me to find a moment each week to write it. A small flaw in an otherwise excellent plan. It has been a very busy couple of weeks, so I’ll take it a week at a time. Monday 21st Sept, I took Kirsty & Lily, to @NorthantsPolice for the retirement celebrations of PD Bryn and PD Ebby. Two remarkable dogs reaching the end of their working careers. Now, anyone who knows me will appreciate the significance of what follows. We arrived two hours early. I am notoriously late for practically everything, so this probably ought to have been recorded somewhere officially. However, it turned out to be a fortunate accident, because we were able to sit in on a fascinating training day, starting with a first aid course for the handlers, followed by some team building exercises, which on occasion, were very funny. We also saw RPD Rocky, who suffered a gastric torsion & sepsis earlier this year. The NFRSA provided £6,500 in grants towards his care, and seeing him looking so well was an absolute joy. It brings home exactly why we do this. A very happy day, with two much-loved dogs embarking on their well-earned retirement. As they leave the police family, they have now both joined ours. Tuesday brought a big moment for Kirsty: her first major exams following her training. She did incredibly well, and we were all so proud of her. Wednesday, we were invited by the Governor to the family opening evening at HMP Long Lartin. A fascinating tour of the prison & we watched displays by the dog teams, including Hannah Ward & Prison Dog Ace, who had won the National Prison Dog Trials two weeks earlier. It was also an opportunity to meet the officers’ and staffs’ families and share the work of the NFRSA. Thurs to Hertfordshire for a meeting with Gilbertson & Page Ltd. There is some wonderful news coming on that front I popped into @HertsPolice to see their new HQ, catch up with the handlers from @BCHPoliceDogs. Among them were PD Cleo, and little PD Phoenix - who has recently passed her first license and does not appear to have grown an inch since I last saw her. Friday included meetings and a photography session with The Big Dog Bed Company, with whom we have collaborated on a new range of dog beds, now available on our website. They feature the newly launched Blue Light Tartan, With memory foam, orthopaedic foam and deeply pocketed mats designed to move with the animal, there is a great deal more to them than a handsome cover. Then Saturday brought our first awards dinner as nominees, at the Animal Star Awards Southwest. And we won Charity of the Year! We were absolutely delighted. Our ambassador @carolvorders came along to support us. Of course, throughout all these visits and celebrations, the grant applications continued to arrive. That week, we helped seven retired service animals: * RPH Spitfire, formerly of the Metropolitan Police Service, following a leg injury. * RPD Chaos, from West Midlands Police, with his regular medication. * Retired Prison Dog Jenna, from HMP Whitemoor, following an emergency veterinary visit for a suspected stomach torsion. Happily, she is fine. * RPD Ruben, from Northumbria Police, with blood tests and follow-up medication after becoming unwell. * Retired Prison Dog Basil, from HMPPS, with his regular medication. * RPD Indy, from Dorset Police, with medication for her arthritis. * Retired Border Force dog Ron, who needs medication to manage his diabetes. As September comes to a close, we have completed 28 grants during the month. Our reporting quarter has also ended, with nearly £40,000 gifted and 77 retired service animals supported. We crack on! Thank you for your support. With love and gratitude Lady B 💜
