I still carry the energy of this night with me!!! Thank you Central Lab AND Mayor @E_DeniseSimmons !!!!
Incredible dialogue last night between @EllisKSean and @E_DeniseSimmons on the enduring systemic racism in our justice system & the struggles faced by exonerees long after release. Check out the work being done by the New England Innocence Project to get involved. #socialimpact

Don’t you all think that #WorldDayofSocialJustice would be a perfect day for @SCDAONews to end the wrongful prosecution of Thomas Rosa?? What does “social justice” even mean if the District Attorney wants another innocent man in Suffolk County to face #Trial4?
Today is #WorldDayofSocialJustice - a day to highlight the importance and need for equal access to resources and opportunities. This year’s theme is “Bridging Gaps, Building Alliances,” which emphasizes the collaborative work we do daily with our community partners and our commitment to public safety.

It’s hard not to feel a tremendous amount of shame for what we allow our governments to do in our names and under the guise of something as important as justice. There is nothing just about the death penalty. Torturing each other does not produce safety. We must stop executions.

Trayvon Martin deserved to grow old. Instead, he was violently killed and made a martyr. On his 29th birthday and always, we'll never stop fighting for accountability, an end to white supremacy, and a world where Black men can age with dignity.

It shouldn’t have taken years of litigation & this decision because it’s always been this rule: prosecutors should not hide evidence of police misconduct from people who may lose their freedom b/c of those same corrupt officers. Our community is filled w/ victims because of this.

If you’re a witness or person w/ knowledge that an innocent citizen is being framed for murder (or any crime), and despite having nearly 2 years to come forward or come public w/ that information, you still don’t—then it only seems fair & just that once you’re charged & tried for conspiring, you should receive the exact same prison sentence that the framed defendant’s charges would amount to—the same number of years that YOU were perfectly okay with & complicit in sentencing an innocent person to. Maybe even more. Don’t let there be another #SeanEllis, an innocent now exonerated Boston man framed for murder who spent 21 years, 7 months, and 29 days behind bars until May 2015 – when Suffolk Superior Court Judge Carol Ball overturned his convictions, ruling that due to police corruption and prosecutors’ misconduct in his trial, “justice was not done.” Judge Ball granted him bail to await a new, fair trial, and on June 6, 2015, Sean was released from prison. Sean’s record is now completely clean and in 2021, the City of Boston awarded him $16 million, described as compensation for misconduct by Boston police. It was thanks to defense attorney Rosemary Schappichio’s steadfast determination & commitment to the truth that Sean got justice. #Trial4 @EllisKSean @RosemaryScapicc #CorruptProsecutors #CorruptPolice #CantonCorruption #CantonCoverup #InnocenceProject #WrongfullyAccused #FalselyAccused #FreeKarenRead #JusticeForJohnOKeefe #KarenRead #FreeTurtleboy #ConspiracyInCanton #MassachusettsCorruption #Trial4

The Massachusetts highest court finds that life without parole is UNCONSTITUTIONAL for kids between the ages of 18-20 when the crime was committed. THIS IS HUGE!!! Commonwealth v. Mattis (SJC 11693): mass.gov/files/documents/202…
🚨🚨TODAY🚨🚨 The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court will decide whether it is unconstitutional for kids to be sentenced to mandatory life without parole for crimes committed when they were between the ages of 18-20 years old. We are collectively hoping for more freedom today!

That is AWESOME news! My youngest brother Raymond Rebello has been in prison since he was 19 years old and for 31 years. He was accused of something he was not involved in. Thank you Sean Ellis for showing up for him at his hearing in December. My sister said you are so humble.
