I've not been tweeting much of late for many reasons: down time relaxing with family, a small archaeology project, preparing to return to teaching after 5 years away and also managing to take on a couple more research/writing projects. Fear not, occasional tweets will continue...

Very exciting news that Old York Historical Society has been given the McIntire garrison by descendants of its builder. Likely the oldest house in Maine, it was built in 1713 by a son of one of the Scots prisoners of war shipped to Maine as forced indentured servants in 1650.

War, conspiracy, voyeurism, ectoplasm . . . this story, reworked and expanded from the first edition in 2001, has got the lot. It's a sad tale, but also extremely creepy. Out next week in paperback.
