Thank you so much Rep Cephas for being a leader! Rampant fatal hit and runs are an epidemic in Philadelphia and so many communities are mourning the loss of their loved ones AND dealing with the trauma that the driver got away with murder.
Jayanna Powell was only 8 yrs old when she was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident while walking home from school. We named Jay Alerts in her honor to act as a deterrent to fleeing the scene of an accident, and get quicker resolution and justice.

Once again asking legislators to take a data driven approach to safe streets and build PROTECTED bike lanes and legalize parking protected bike lanes to save lives👍👍👍
Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.
ALL ROAD USERS.
And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them.

Check out this editorial by Vision Zero partner @BCGP and @Fam4SafeStreets in the @PhillyInquirer! They call on PA to renew and expand speed cameras, enact the hit and run direct notification system, and allow parking-separated bike lanes on state roads. inquirer.com/opinion/comment…

We will not be ignored.
At hour 27 of Amy and Fabiola's hunger strike, we marched through the halls of the Capitol with one demand for @CarlHeastie: A vote on Sammy's Law.
New York City should set New York City speed limits — not Albany.

Sammy’s Law would give New York City local control of speed limits.
Despite support from a majority of NYC assemblymembers, the governor, and the mayor, @CarlHeastie refuses to bring the bill for a vote.
We are now 50 hours into our hunger strike and he still won’t explain why.
