"There is modern slavery happening right now."
Migrant care workers are told to stay silent, accept poor treatment and endure exploitation because they are tied to a single employer.
It's a system that traps workers with abusive employers.

'Teaching assistants, cleaners and all other school support staff are long overdue a better deal,’ says UNISON general secretary Andrea Egan on reports the government will let schools use money saved from support staff pension funds to pay for the teachers’ pay award.

ALT Andrea Egan: School support staff overdue a better deal "Setting worker against worker is never the answer. "Teaching assistants, cleaners and all other support staff are long overdue a better deal. Any money saved from the local government pension scheme must go towards improving their pay and conditions. "”This plan also raises practical concerns about how any redistribution of pensions will work. Schools don’t pay the same pension contributions across the country. "Some could be left without any budget savings because their employer contributions won’t actually fall."
