What happened when AI chatbots were asked to rule on a High Court case? Well we found out - great piece on Kilkenny Law Festival in today's Irish Independent about one of my events (I only manage a few and awesome co-founders like @naoisen do the rest) tinyurl.com/Indo-ai-v-judge.

Another day another cracking story in the papers sourced from Courtsdesk News - £200k of art stolen from iconic international footballer Edgar Davids. The art was allegedly used as security to apply for loans of over £250k which led to charges of “fraud by false representation”.

The case won't go to hearing in the Crown Court until Jan 2024. One f the many reasons the news media are using Courtsdesk News to access Magistrates Court data - they can be up to a full year ahead of the reporters in the higher courts. Few thoughts here: tinyurl.com/2amyr4t2

Great use of financial crime data from our UK news media data service, Courtsdesk News. Made the splash in the money section in today's Sunday @TheTimes here: tinyurl.com/courtsdesknewsST Here are a few thoughts on it: tinyurl.com/bdd848bb #news #datajournalism #legaltech

Woop! There goes Trump's hope of getting to 270 electoral college votes... Assuming the trend continues, this is pretty much the exact moment he lost the #Election2020 race. Biden still has to actually win of course...

How can the two biggest networks be reporting #Election2020 figures without any mention of them being "estimates" or "projections"...no caution, no caveat, just a bald headline. No wonder so many Americans resonate with the 'fake news' stuff...what to believe? CNN:253; Fox:264

The @nytimes #USElection tracker map is brilliant. Proper newspaper-meets-web graphics concept.

Watching the #USElection... jumping between CNN, Fox, ABC and NBC. Three letter acronyms all over the place...USA USA USA! (Fox obviously stands for Fuckin Oxymoronic Xenophobia....Just a guess...🤷🏻‍♂️)

High Court rules Gemma O'Doherty and John Waters must pay the costs of their failed challenge to laws brought in due to Covid-19, via @Sootyof. Bill estimated to be in the region of €50,000. They intend to bring the case to the Court of Appeal. More soon on @Independent_ie

Interesting that after all the stories and exposes in the @businessposthq by @AarRogan about Maximum Media, now the KPMG examiners have chosen there as the place to advertise for investors sought... Good to see they believe Joe and co are "on a clear path to profitable growth".

@OrbitkeyUKIE @orbitkey I have to say guys...you rock. I dont post gushing compliments often. But I love your kit. I was sad when I lost my keyring 3 months ago. Now just found it buried in grass in the garden. Keys utterly destroyed with rust. But the keyring?...totally perfect.

Oh and the USB stick...works perfectly. In fact there was rust on it, and on the keyring parts...but then I gave it a wipe and discovered it was only from the keys 😂. Spotless underneath. Seriously good merch. Fair play to you. Keep up the good work.

As usual @shanephelanindo asking the interesting questions about #legaltech data bit.ly/3esTvR1 At @courtsdesk we set up a monitor of all cases listed for hearings since Covid shut courtrooms. Quite a backlog! But the @CourtsServiceIE are clearly working hard to sort it

Devastatingly effective dismantling of Gemma O’Doherty and John Waters case from Judge Charles Meenan. No response to affidavit from Dept of Health. And then, “unsubstantiated opinions, speeches, empty rhetoric and a bogus historical parallel are not a substitute for facts”.

More Courtsdesk data being put to good use today by journalists - in the Irish Indo bit.ly/2T0KOoD People often forget we're not only a court case search and tracking service but a full Irish CRO, legal risk and corporate insolvency data service, via web app or API

Cheers @RosannaCooney for the mention in today's @businessposthq. Glad to help with @courtsdesk stats for the piece - we're seeing a big pause in litigation in Ireland...but it's the calm before the storm businesspost.ie/lawyers-expe…

As it should be. The social media memes are funny and all...but we need to support professionals at work telling us what is actually going on.
