I'll be at #IPGSA2025 in 10 days time - come find me at poster 102 to discuss what we've learned in rice about the role of KL & its negative regulator SMAX1 in root development, mycorrhizal symbiosis and germination, as well as our efforts to take chemical control of this pathway

Came across a strange website that appears to be some sort of LLM generated scam product for weed growers. Interesting to see that while the LLM has hallucinated all the citations it does get the right volume for the publication year.

Anyway this is what google serves you as a top result for "plant uptake of fatty acids", and includes in it own LLM summaries.

If you're a fan of my very intermittent posting, since Cohost has folded you can now follow me on Bsky as well, under the same handle.

Find me tomorrow at #FOG2025 in London, with a poster on the @CropSciCentre's TRAP & Molecular Cartography investigations into intracellular interactions between rice & fungal symbionts. What can we learn by applying these exciting technologies to agricultural systems?

Reminder that I'll be speaking 16:45 tomorrow @BiochemSoc 's Synthetic Biology UK meeting, on targeted alteration of plant environmental responses to help us optimize future food production. #BiochemEvent

As part of the Paszkowski lab, I focus on maximizing the benefit plants can obtain from interacting with symbiotic soil fungi, but tools for hormone detection will aid in controlling responses to the whole range of the biotic and abiotic environment.

Genetic blocks on hormone signaling reshaped our crop plants during the Green Revolution to dramatically improve productivity. We hope to go further with targeted tissue-specific or environmentally-responsive alterations to optimize production. #BiochemEvent @BiochemSoc

Rhizophagus really exploring some rice roots - lots of blebs of partial penetration attempts?
