20 MARRIED SEX Facts and Statistics ... 1 - Most married couples have sex a little over 6 times per month. 2 - Married women are more than twice as likely to have an orgasm as unmarried women. 3 - In 1 out of 4 marriages the wife has the higher sex-drive than the husband. 4 - Roughly 20% of married couples fall into the “sexless marriage” category; defined as having sex less than 10 times per year. Which is totally fine as long as BOTH partners are okay with this. If one is not, that's not healthy. Many of these couples are older married couples, who are unable to have sex. 5 - According to statistics, 75% of married women orgasm during sex. AND many married women don't measure sexual success by orgasms, (but it's definitely very important). Meaning women often still feel connected to their husband, and satisfied, when not achieving an orgasm every time. 6 - The length of a men’s orgasm is roughly 8 seconds long whereas a woman’s orgasm is on average 20 seconds! 7 - The main goal of sex in marriage should be two fold: 1) To please each other person, not seek self-satisfaction first. 2) Re-connection as husband and wife. 8 - God created a woman’s clitoris with 8000 nerve endings .... and its ONLY function is to bring pleasure. Married sex is obviously to be enjoyed for more than just procreation. 9 - Two of the biggest enemies of married sex are busyness and tiredness. So if you're struggling with sexual intimacy, maybe slow down and make it a priority. 10 - Statistically the couples with the best sex-lives are the couples willing to talk about it with one another. 11 - IMPORTANT: How often should a married couple have sex? As often as they both mutually agree to. Whether it’s 5 times a a week, 5 times a month, or 5 times a year, it should be mutual agreement. Neither the higher-drive spouse nor the lower sex-drive should NOT be the one that sets the amount of times when it comes to frequency. 12 - COMPLAINTS: Top complaint from MARRIED WOMEN when it comes to sex? They want their husband to pursue them in other ways than just sexually. Meaning, they don't want to feel like the only time their husband wants them is sexually. Top compliant from MARRIED MEN when it comes to sex? They’d like their wife to initiate more often so they don’t feel like they’re begging. Nothing is worse than feeling like you're begging all the time. 13 - Most husbands feel very emotionally connected to their wife when they have sex with them. Most wives NEED to feel very emotionally connected to their husbands to want to have sex with them. Don't judge your spouse for being wired up different, try to see it from their vantage point and meet their needs their way. 14 - Married sex isn't just about having an orgasm. It's designed to connect and reconnect two people into one ... over and over. Married sex was created to be the purest form of intimacy ... where you touch one another physically, emotionally and spiritually. In fact, it's so good for your marriage, you should probably be having more of it. 15 - God created married sex for SO many reasons ... * procreation * pleasure * oneness * comfort * bonding * intimate knowledge of one another * connecting AND re-connecting with one another. 16 - Did you know that every time you have sex with your spouse, oxytocin is released into your bodies. Oxytocin is a hormone and neurotransmitter known as the "love hormone" or "cuddle hormone," produced in the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland, crucial for social bonding, trust, and attachment. Oxytocin is an incredible gift that connects you to your spouse. That's why many say sex is a glue in your marriage! 17 - Of course anyone can have sex; it only requires a few body parts.
