Petition signed regarding the removal of German from CCEA specs. Such a disappointing decision, especially as it is a flourishing subject in my school.

I'm trying to understand the 'digital ID by the back door' argument against the U16 social media ban. Have we not been sharing our ID online for decades?
One of the highlights of the school year for me is linking up with the School of Education at Queen's University Belfast to deliver an A Level teaching workshop. I love welcoming current English PGCE students into our dept to teach our A Level pupils! Always an inspiring day!
My copy of @HaleDonal 's new book has arrived. I can't wait to dive into this one!
I'm coming out of my X hibernation to celebrate the first @LitdriveUK conference in Belfast yesterday. I had a ball discussing how a bookletised curriculum saves my life as an English HOD. Congrats to all organisers and here's to many more!
I haven't posted on X in forever but I interrupt my hiatus and your Twixmas with a rage about TikTok's current advertising campaign.
SM platforms are well aware the tide is turning. Parents are (should!) be more informed and Australia is trailblazing ahead of us all. So, this new ad campaign feels like a pivot on their part & a pathetic way to gain back waning parental trust.
It's been 24 hours since this was posted by NI's Dept of Education. There have been hundreds of comments across all DoE social media platforms, as well as universal condemnation from teaching unions.
It is beyond comprehension that the DoE felt this trip was appropriate.
Education Minister @paulgivan visited Ofek School in the Jerusalem District today to learn more about Israel’s innovative approaches to gifted education and inclusive learning.
The Minister engaged in discussions with Principal Racheli Yitzhak, along with representatives of the Israeli Ministry of Education, teachers and students.

I've got a new Clevertouch interactive whiteboard! Anyone got any top tips or jazzy ways to get the most out of it -particularly in the English classroom?
Really enjoyed Bruce Robertson's 'Power Up Your Pedagogy' webinar, facilitated by the Teacher CPD Academy this afternoon. Delighted to take part in such high-quality CPD now available to teachers in NI. Lots of practical takeaways!
I've 'moved' to LinkedIn. I'm trying to connect with as many of you from 'old' Edu-Twitter as possible! See you there!
My utmost respect goes to any post primary teacher who has beautiful resources/worksheets so neatly stuck into jotters. I see lovely pics of these on here all the time.
How do you find time?! Surely Year 8 aren't sticking things in themselves?!
Year 10 Knowledge Organiser nearly complete. Practical qs to those that use them: how do you provide the blank copies for self-quizzing? Just photocopies each time you need them to quiz? Or do you make a booklet with all the blanks already in? That's what I'm aiming for here.
Getting back to teaching basics this year by focusing on using mini whiteboards & knowledge organisers. I'm always up for a knowledge organiser nosey - if you have some you use for English I'd love to see (and will return in kind).
Catching up on the first episode of 'Educating Yorkshire' & the main take away so far is sheer envy that some schools have a dedicated Student Manager. That would've been the stuff of dreams for a HOY that still had a full teaching load (ie me, 4 years ago).
