People aren't ready to hear it but there's loads of proper cultural stuff going on in Milton Keynes: a theatre that gets all the big shows; The Stables, one of our best arts centres; the excellent MK Gallery; MK Bowl for huge festivals; plus gig venues like the Craufurd Arms

Grateful to the good folks at Northern Soul for this kind write-up of my talk at Ilkley Literature Festival (and glad my Suede t-shirt is getting some attention)
'Buddhism's philosophy of impermanence would underpin the restlessness of Bowie's own reinventions' NS sees Peter Ormerod talk about his book, David Bowie and the Search for Life, Death and God, at Ilkley Literature Festival. northernsoul.me.uk/david-bow…

Back from a wonderful time at @wellslitfest. Wonderful audience, wonderful questions, wonderful conversations. @Chrissalmon is an expert interlocutor; we bonded over shared love of Brannigans Beef & Mustard crisps. And this is how the cathedral looked as the sun began to set

Twin Peaks, Japan, Bob Dylan, murder ballads, advertising, Gnosticism - all sorts came up in my interview with Marco Zoppas about Bowie and my book. Great questions!

I'll be speaking at the wonderful Wells Festival of Literature tomorrow night, and it would be lovely to see you if you can make it. These events have gone so well so far, and I'm pretty sure tomorrow's will be another good one!

Superb book, this. Suede were the first band I properly fell in love with, and the fact they're still going at all is pretty amazing. But they're redefining what it means to be a band of their vintage in the 2020s, and Rodge Glass captures this so well. See 'em live if you can

Happy memories of listening often to this with my mum in the last few months of her life. She had dementia but enjoyed the music and remembered all the liturgy (although she'd be quick to complain if she felt a Bible passage was read poorly)

Ilkley - the moor and the town - looking mighty fine this morning. Huge thanks to @ilkleylitfest for inviting me to speak, looking after me so well and putting on such a great event, and thanks to all who attended or watched online - the turnout was fantastic!

A load of people who bemoan the decline of Western civilization seem quite comfortable with this return to barbarism
BREAKING: Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has said the public will be able to watch the execution of a former US Army major by firing squad.

Quite a night @TheRSC's As You Like It: Jonathan Groff, Richard McCabe, Gary Wilmot - actual Wilmot! - a set you just want to roll around in, a cappella Welsh hymns, a tech fault that held things up for an hour, all ending defiantly

Thanks again to everyone who’s already bought my book, written a review, attended an event, sent me a message, posted about it online, told friends about it in person - whatever you’ve done to support it, I’m ever so grateful
