One of our points of emphasis this year is acts of service. Today we helped clean up the softball edges and warning track. There is no greater gift than to serve others! Great work today boys!

What really IS Cori Close’s coaching style? “You’re not coaching people’s jumpshots, you’re coaching people’s hearts. But if you coach their hearts really well, usually their jump shots end up pretty good too. And I would say our players jumpshots ended up pretty good too.”

“They’ve allowed me to really have the pure joy of coaching. I’m having as much fun as I’ve ever had in my life. Not because we’re winning but how we’re winning. How these kids honor the game, respect their opponents, their level of focus,” Vic Schaefer If you love the process…

Winning doesn’t care what you did yesterday. It wants to know if you’re ready to do it again today. Doing things the right way, every day. Integrity isn’t what you show the world. It’s what you demand from yourself when no one’s watching.

Every HS kid I ask “wants to play” in college. But so many don’t want: 20 hours of practice/weights 20 hours of class/study hall 0 hours of “social life” Some weeks: 6-7 days a week. 6am starts. 10pm ends. Sooo...Do you REALLY want it?
