It’s through ministering to each other that we can feel the unconditional love of our Father in Heaven. I experienced this today from someone very special to me.

ā€œGrowing up, it was always God, family, and baseball. There were a lot of late nights practicing, a lot of traveling, and sometimes it was hard to get to church. But my parents helped me build a foundation on a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. ā€œI always had a testimony, but I hadn’t read the Book of Mormon all the way through. I believed what my parents told me. They’re really smart, and their testimonies are strong. Then I got drafted, and I thought, ā€˜All right, I probably need to read this for myself.’ ā€œOne of the guys I was drafted with shared my faith. We became roommates and studied the scriptures together. As I read, I received personal revelation. That’s when my testimony really became stronger. I could see Heavenly Father’s hand in putting someone like that in my life. ā€œReading helped me strengthen my testimony, and living what I believed gave me more opportunities to recognize His hand. ā€œMy mom had talked to me about tithing before I even had a job. She told me about the blessings she’d seen and encouraged me to pay it. So I did. As I’ve kept that commitment, I’ve learned that the blessings can be physical, too. For me, being able to play baseball at my best is a blessing I connect directly to paying my tithing. ā€œPlaying at an elite level still has its ups and downs. After a good year, I had a rough year. Sometimes you’re asking Heavenly Father, ā€˜Please help me,’ and you forget how much He’s already helped. Looking back helped me recognize the opportunities and blessings He had already given me. ā€œThat same commitment to living my faith carries into how I take care of myself. Living the Word of Wisdom is a choice I made early. I’ve never wanted to drink or smoke. In high school, I watched people try vaping, get addicted, and struggle to stop. I didn’t want to find myself in that situation, and I’m grateful I made that decision before I ever started playing professionally. ā€œSo when we were celebrating with the team and there wasn’t any sparkling cider, I opened the fridge, saw some Fanta in glass bottles, and grabbed a couple. I didn’t even want to hold alcohol because I didn’t want to give the impression I was drinking it. Then everybody started sending me pictures of their Fanta. ā€œReading the Book of Mormon, paying my tithing, and living the Word of Wisdom are commitments I carry with me. As I’ve lived them, the foundation my parents helped me build in the gospel of Jesus Christ has become stronger through my own experiences. ā€œHeavenly Father has really shown His hand in my life.ā€ —Cooper

Wisconsin in the news all over the place. First, @realDrTT gets a very rare response from the official X account of the church… Then the @Brewers win the World Series. Coincidence? šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Thank you for reading. For those unfamiliar with the Doctrine and Covenants, it is a book of scripture used in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints containing revelations from the Lord to the Prophet Joseph Smith and to a few other latter-day prophets. Y’all, I’m not lying. @ZionsCampfire confirms that Marieke Golden is as good as I keep claiming!
I did. All because you said it was so good. I've had it by itself, on Chicken in a Biscuit crackers, and on pasta. Can confirm that it is every bit as good as you said!

Now that baseball season is over, I’ve been told to get back to cheese posting (not cheesy posting. I don’t do that…usually). This is what I’m handing out to trick-or-treaters this year:

I got back onto X (I’ve come & gone with different accounts over the past decade +)…mostly just to follow/talk sports, and like you, for unfiltered/unbiased news/political stuff. Found the LDSX community along the way the past couple of years. Been muted/outcasted by a majority of the LDSX community, cause I don’t talk enough religion and talk too much sports…even by people I know, which is sad & telling at the same time. Found a majority of that stuff on here to be the X version of Bible bashing, which I refused to do on my mission 20+ years ago and still refuse to do now. It doesn’t invite the spirit and those people aren’t changing hearts or minds. But I love your approach and I try to do the same. Be kind and lead by example. You’re one of the few who still interacts with me even though I’m mostly here for sports/outdoors/news and don’t talk religion 24/7. You’re a true friend and a great example! Go Utes! ā¤ļø

Cooper Pratt in the WS: 6 straight AB w/ a hit 5 straight games w/ a run 4 hits in a game 3 straight multi-RBI games extra-inning HR stolen base No one else has done all that over any 5-game span (reg or post) at any point in his MLB career (since RBI became official in 1920).

This made me a bit emotional to watch. It’s hard not to be romantic about baseball.
