Replying to @xEHARLEMx @BrickCenter_
I think he was just on high alert for some shenanigans lol

That was Jarrett Jack, I know he stayed ready
I sort of feel like the only reason Ausar Thompson is still in this game is to give Brunson a hard time 😂
It feels disrespectful to say this was a trap game for Detroit, but I wrote on PistonsRoundtable.com how this result was, in some ways, fairly telegraphed
The Pistons were 3-0 entering the contest while the Knicks were still winless. The game is inside MSG vs. the defending champs, a team Detroit swept 3-0 last year.
Based on that alone, you could see that New York was due for one. But when you add Paul Reed’s foul trouble and Duncan Robinson’s shooting struggles into the mix, then this is what happens.
The Knicks lead by 25 entering the fourth quarter.
Paul Reed picking up his 5th personal really puts the Pistons in a tough position here. Now trailing by 10, expect for Detroit to use Collins at the 5 for small-ball minutes, but Tolu Smith could be an option as well
Paul Reed might just be the Knicks’ kryptonite after all.
B-Ball Paul has 13 points so far and the Pistons are coincidentally taking a 13-point edge over NYK into the 2nd quarter
I’m unsure if this will turn into another 30-point drubbing between the two squads, but it’s certainly possible.
Ausar Thompson is back in the starting lineup for the Pistons tonight. Tip-off coming at the top of the hour against the Knicks
So many injury issues popping up across the league today. Kawhi Leonard will be out for a while, Ant Edwards is basically out of the MVP / awards discussion with all the time he’ll miss with arthroscopic knee surgery.
The situation in OKC is not great either.
Now, the Pistons are focusing on Jalen Duren’s recovery from a strained hamstring, but that seems like small potatoes compared to what some other teams are dealing with.
In one corner, the NBA just announced a new deal with Kalshi that will certainly drive fan confidence in objectivity.
In the other corner, Malik Beasley just plead guilty for his role in a bribery / betting scheme within the league
Surely, the NBA isn’t sending any mixed messages here, right?
There’s still 6:34 left in the 2nd quarter and Cade Cunningham, Paul Reed and John Collins all have 5 rebounds already for the Pistons
Detroit leads by 10
Isaiah Joe is officially questionable to return with a hip contusion after taking that hard spill along the baseline.
Pistons lead 39-27
Pistons rookie Ebuka Okorie made his regular season debut in the first quarter where Detroit jumped out to a 34-22 lead
Isaiah Joe took a big spill after throwing down a huge dunk in transition but landed squarely on his tailbone. Joe briefly went to the locker room but it looks like he will be alright.
Seeing more small-ball minutes with Collins at the five in Duren’s absence tonight. Looks like both Harkless and Jones are active, but neither have checked in thus far.
We’ve got some pre-game injury updates on Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe ahead of tonight’s matchup between the Pistons and 76ers
Both teams will be shorthanded tonight:

The Pistons hit 18 triples against the Heat tonight, but their 128-111 win came at the cost of Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren, who were both injured and did not return to the contest.
After the game, J.B. Bickerstaff shook his head and indicated that he didn’t have an update on either player quite yet:

Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff shook his head and dismissed any updates on Jalen Duren or Ausar Thompson after Detroit’s 128-111 victory over the Miami Heat
No update on Ausar Thompson yet, but with the Pistons ahead by 23 entering the 4th quarter, his night is most assuredly over. Same story with Jalen Duren, who left holding his right thigh.
Now just like Duren, the Pistons have lost Ausar Thompson down the tunnel and into the locker room. It looked like Ausar’s feet got tangled up a second ago, so it’s not obvious what happened to him just yet, but absolutely awful news for the Pistons
Detroit leads 82-69 over the Heat on the road
John Collins heading into the break with the Pistons up 65-53:
“With the squad they have, emphasis on us to hit first and dominate the paint.”
Collins hit three triples in the first half, while Duncan Robinson knocked down four shots from beyond the arc. Detroit as a whole is shooting 50% from downtown tonight
