For just $50 a violin, Superintendent Laura Jacob is churning out a candy-colored orchestra with her army of 3D printers — and making each instrument free to any student in her rural Pennsylvania school district.
During an average school year, violin rental fees can cost families hundreds of dollars. Jacob is changing that and her students say it’s helping them build confidence: “If I can play the violin, I can do anything.”
