The Devils 4/5 , If you are religious ( or religious and catholic) I’d pass Mostly about religious hysteria used for political ends by Cardinal Richelieu against a town that wanted to maintain its walls and hugonaut tolerance. Well done , could have toned down the sex and decadence and a better film. Also slight acting and tropes of the 70 that may be considered artsy. Not what was proffer in most reviews worth seeing.

Making peace with schimatics will not hold @MatiosTV

The bee-buzz in my ear Loud droning wave like close then farther, Reminds Sappho’s Fragmentary whisper, … if you want the honey, Forsake not the honey maker… @zenahitz @Porkchop_EXP @lilchiva @NahanniFinanci1 @MinxyOwl @sebs_tweets @MicMars @booksoftitans @MatiosTV

by Edna St. Vincent Millay Passer Mortuus Est was published in Millay's collection, Second April (1921). Death devours all lovely things; Lesbia with her sparrow Shares the darkness,—presently Every bed is narrow. Unremembered as old rain Dries the sheer libation, And the little petulant hand Is an annotation. After all, my erstwhile dear, My no longer cherished, Need we say it was not love, Now that love is perished? @sebs_tweets @MicMars @zenahitz @Porkchop_EXP @OldWhit04471679 @MinxyOwl @lilchiva @sundayblue @ZebraStationIce Catullus and Millay

If you take photos of what you actually are reading the pile is much smaller. I have about 300 books in my to read pile I am listening to Vanity Fair, reading Woolf’s the waves and rereading Auden. This is actually pretty much 100 % capacity @zenahitz @booksoftitans @sebs_tweets @MicMars @lilchiva @NahanniFinanci1 @MinxyOwl (I will be adding one more to the pile 😉) @Porkchop_EXP @Gerald_Ashley @MatiosTV

Audiobook Middlemarch by George Elliot. I am glad I read Middlemarch as I can discuss it intelligently, it has the problems of being long winded, gossipy, and very prudish in an odd way. It is almost all the romances are so devoid of sex or attraction other than the most sublime form of amor sans eros, this does not have to be, sex and attraction can be implied as in Thackery's Vanity Fair. All the relations have no sexual energy. I find the characters are written for Elliot's convenience rather than having a life of their own. It should be read but it is far less than I expected, it suffers from the serialization and length making the editing of the unnecessary out of the volumes impossible. As I move through looking at the English novel, I think that this may be the most middling thing I have read.

I notice Vanity Fair was serialized as well in 19 parts but it seems not to suffer from the long windedness or flat characters. It is gossipy but I like the narrator of VF much more than MM
